They shall grow not old, as we are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning.
We will remember them.
We will remember them. Lest we forget.
We remember those who gave their lives for a belief — a belief in a free Australia and in the Australian dream itself. The same patriotism that once gave young men the courage to fight and die for this country would today be labelled “racism” by the very politicians who claim to represent us.
The dream of owning a home — the foundation of that Australian ideal — is slipping out of reach for ordinary people. Our land is sold off piece by piece to foreign investors, while our leaders open the gates to those who burn our flag and sneer at our values. They hide behind the word “inclusiveness” as they silence and shame anyone brave enough to speak out.
Our vast resources are plundered and sold overseas, enriching others while leaving Australians behind. The wealth that should build our nation is stripped away, and with it, the future of our children grows ever more uncertain.
They send millions overseas in aid and war efforts while their own citizens sleep in the streets. Homelessness rises. The cost of living soars. Education and healthcare crumble. And what do they do? Nothing.
So when a politician stands to give their Remembrance Day speech, my back will be turned. They’ve lost the right to speak for the Australian spirit — because they’ve forgotten what it means to live it.
Our greatest threat no longer comes from beyond our shores, but from within the walls of Parliament — from those who were meant to serve the Australian people, yet choose instead to trample on them. 🌹
