Today's free bread haul from Secondbite is slightly later than normal, but there is plenty, with lots of options to choose from. Everyone is free to come on in and take as much as they like. Thanks to those local volunteers who organise this service on behlaf of the community.

We've topped up our beanbags, we're getting ready to host a great movie and soup night, and you're invited!

This Sunday 9 August at 4:30pm, at Northcliffe's Bean Bag cinema we are offering a Winter Warmer: free soup and sourdough followed by the film Three Colours: Red.

This is an activity of the Northcliffe Visitor Centre & Public Library in partnership with Northcliffe CRC and Southern Forest Arts.

Having skimmed through a retelling of the plot I would say this film defies summarization. This was film maker Krzysztof Kieślowski's last film - he died suddenly 2 years after, but he certainly didn't die unrecognized. The film has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and according to Wikipedia is 'widely regarded as one of the best films of all time, as well as one of the greatest French-language films ever made.'

We're looking forward to the film, the soup, the sourdough and the great company. Come and join us - no bookings needed just turn up. Northcliffe Bean Bag Cinema is located in the same building as the Library, Visitor Centre and the CRC.

Have a sneak preview of some of the early entries (used with permission) into the Northcliffe Bee Festival Photo Competition and Exhibition. You have until 6 September to get your entries in. Entry is free for up to 5 images and very easy. No need to print just email your images through. Details here: northcliffe.org.au

Don't be intimidated - we have lots of competition categories and ways for entrants to benefit. For instance all of those whose works are chosen for exhibition will receive a copy of their printed and mounted photo (collection from Northcliffe only) after the exhibition closes.

You're invited!

This coming Sunday, 2nd August, at 4:30pm, we have free soup and sourdough on offer, and then a screening of 'White', the second film in the Three Colours Trilogy. These are stand alone films so don't worry if you missed the first one.

No bookings are required. Just come along to the bean bag cinema in Northcliffe (located with the Library, Visitor Centre and CRC).

'White' stars Julie Delpy and Zbigniew Zamachowski. We haven't yet seen this film but here's a teaser from the online summary: "Karol, a Polish hairdresser living in Paris, is humiliated and divorced by his French wife, Dominique, due to his inability to consummate the marriage." From the summary this sounds like just the start of a wild wild ride for Karol and Dominique.

The following Sunday 9th August at 4:30pm will be the final screening for a while, the third in the Three Colour trilogy: Red.

This Sunday 26 July 4:30pm, come along and enjoy free soup, sourdough, and the movie 'BLUE' with popcorn at Northcliffe's beanbag cinema. The Northcliffe CRC/Bee Festival photo competition is open from today on!

The town's inaugural Bee festival will be held on 24th October 2026, with a few events in the preceding and following days.
You can enter your images any time between now and 6 September 2026. Entry is easy, you do not need to print your images, just email them through, and entry is free for up to 5 images.

Participants in the competition who have their work chosen for the exhibition will be able to take home their printed mounted work after the exhibition closes (collection in Northcliffe only). We also have prizes to the value of $400 on offer.

The exhibition will be held in the Painted Tree Gallery and will coincide with the weekend of the festival on 24-25th October 2026. We're not sure when we'll have our opening / prize ceremony so stay tuned.

The WA Fuel support payment is now available for everyone with a WA drivers license! We have paper forms available at the CRC if you don't want or can't use your digital ID and Service WA app and can offer help and support!
To claim with a paper form you need to have a copy of your bank statement and drivers license!

The Fuel Support Payment offer is now open to claim!

If you hold a valid Western Australian driver’s licence, you can claim a one-off $100 Fuel Support Payment.

This includes learner, provisional (P-platers) and extraordinary licences.

The fastest, most secure and convenient way to claim is through the ServiceWA app using your Digital ID.

You can use it however you like, including donating it directly to a charity through the app.
