What happens when a city decides to transform its vacant lots into vibrant green spaces? Crime goes down, hope goes up, and communities thrive.

Through the LandCare program, run by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), teams of dedicated workers are turning once-blighted lots, overrun with weeds, trash, and abandoned cars, into beautiful, maintained green spaces.

The work is simple but powerful: removing trash, cutting grass, and adding fresh soil. The results? 12,000 cleared plots now flourishing across the city - that's 15 million square feet of renewed hope and a third of Philadelphia's vacant land transformed.

In this video, break down how Germany's Balkonkraftwerk movement exploded from 500,000 registered systems to over a million in just one year, how the technology works, what it costs, and how policy changes made it all possible.
