From the cab of a dozer to the boardroom, our work with Komatsu Australia is about one thing - making sure their stories reach the audiences that matter most.

Komatsu operate in a competitive, high-stakes industrial sector and they need a steady, practical PR program that delivers impact.

Over time, our PR program has helped Komatsu maintain a steady presence across national, mainstream and trade media, while building the profile of its people, customers and projects. Most importantly, it ensures they are meeting their audiences where they are.

Did you know that this year the Australian Made kangaroo logo turns 40?

With many clients in Australian agriculture and manufacturing, the team at HC will be celebrating Australian Made week from 18-24th of May.

Andy Lee will be donning the green and gold to highlight the economic benefits of seeking out and buying products bearing the Australian Made logo and supporting growers, producers and businesses on our home soil.

When a major issue hits, everyone has a view (though not everyone has something valuable to say). The fuel crisis has quickly become a broad, high-profile conversation across industry, government and media. For organisations looking to participate, the challenge is doing so in a way that adds value.

Here Kendi talks about getting a word in for the supply chain when the conversation is crowded https://shorturl.at/KkjM5

Strong communications rarely happen by accident. They come from clear thinking about what needs to be said, who needs to hear it and why it matters. A solid strategy ensures every message works harder and lands where it should.

One of the most powerful tools inside a communications strategy is a messaging framework. But at Hardman Communications we take this a step further.

Our work focuses on building a clear strategic narrative that aligns business objectives, audiences and communications activity. It ensures that every piece of communication, from a media interview to a LinkedIn post, reinforces the same story.

If your organisation is investing in communications but the messaging feels fragmented, it may be time to step back and build the strategy first.

It’s one of our favourite projects each year. 💜

The AgriFutures Australia Rural Women’s Award recognises and empowers women driving innovation and leadership across rural and emerging industries, businesses and communities. Each year we support their cohort of state finalists with tailored media training to help refine their own stories and understand what journalists are really looking for in interviews.

The finalists walk away feeling confident and prepared for their media journey ahead.

What does AI say about your business?

More and more people are finding out about your business by asking AI, without ever clicking through to your website or your owned channels. Kendi explains how media coverage influences what AI says about you.

This year, in the Year of the Horse 🐎 Team HC have each chosen a word to guide our focus and decision making.

From building momentum to gaining perspective or protecting wellbeing, these words reflect what we want more of in 2026.

Turns out, doing less can actually deliver more. 😎

Fewer, more meaningful social media posts are outperforming busy content calendars and driving stronger engagement.

Recently, our team took part in a peer review exercise where we looked at client social media channels with fresh eyes, honest feedback and no emotional attachment.

We reviewed with two themes in mind:

1️⃣ “Don’t post for the sake of posting.”

2️⃣ “Should our energy be focused elsewhere?” For example, when a CEO’s LinkedIn page is outperforming the main brand channel, should we change our approach?

Here’s five points that stood out 👇

Each year at HC, we choose a theme to guide how we work and grow together. In 2026, that theme is creativity, not just in the obvious ways, but in how we solve problems, shape strategy, collaborate with clients and challenge our thinking.

We kicked it off in February with a simple but intentional exercise: a colour walk. Each of us chose a colour and set out to find it in our everyday surroundings, noticing details we might normally overlook. The result is a collage of four colours found in unexpected places around Parramatta.

See if you can guess who had which colour 🤔

Each month, we will spotlight a clear creative focus, supported by practical activities designed to stretch our perspective and sharpen our approach and we’re looking forward to sharing what we learn along the way!

Freshmark represents NSW’s central market system, transacting more than $3 billion in fresh produce every year. 📣 Over the past five years, we’ve worked closely with Freshmark to strengthen its public voice, build credibility with government and media and demonstrate value to members. 🍅🍏🥕🥑

The result? Direct references in the 2024–25 Supermarkets Inquiry and major reforms to the 2025 NSW Food Regulation that will save the industry millions.

Strategic communications and advocacy, aligned and focused, deliver real impact.
