Hands up 🙌 if you were obsessed with Yellowstone too? 🐎

As a child & teen, my happy place was sitting tall in the saddle of my horses, inhaling that distinct leather & horse smell (IYKYK) & riding through the bush without a care in the world.

While I don't have horses anymore, I'll forever be a horse girlie at heart, so it's little wonder that Yellowstone's popularity seems to have given 'western' vibe a fresh lease on life, & I'm absolutely here for it.

I wish I'd done it sooner, but the inspiration struck to create something fun, just for the sake of it!
So I put together these gorgeous colour palettes as a nod to the rugged, dusty & for the sake of it, and put together these colour palettes as a nod to one of my favourite shows ever.

This could be a fun series to get into - getting inspired by tv shows, movies or culture & turning them into colour palettes & brand inspo, what do you think?

You've got the right intentions when it comes to creating your business content, but somehow it always feels like pushing a boulder uphill.

That sense of dread every time you open Canva to 'quickly whip up a post' but before you know it you've spent hours & end up not posting because it doesn't look or feel right.

Maybe you're wasting a tonne of time fluffing around in Canva searching for cool templates (that everyone else also uses), but then you need to spend more time tweaking colours, fonts, images, alignments etc that it ends up looking like a hot mess & nothing like what you started with.

Whether you're new here, or you've been with me for a while, hi 👋

I'm Alannah, a 40-something year old woman, proud mum of 2 & wife of a FIFO husband. A creative small business owner, lover of aesthetics, beautiful imagery & the ocean, finding my balance & boundaries, a (self imposed) perfectionist & recovering people pleaser 🤗

The truth is, I've always felt as a designer that I should show the stunning end result.

When you're spending so much time creating your content, at least make it readable!

Listen, I'm an aesthetic girlie at heart & love a fancy design as much as the next person. But if you want someone to actually read your post, you need to give them a reason to stop scrolling 🛑

If you use Canva to create your content, keep reading for my favourite tip to check text sizes are readable, you're going to love it!

Does that mean make all your text gigantic & fill up every slide? NO! (But I'll get into that on another post 😉)
