Halfway through day one of the Future of Generative AI in Public Relations & Communications Summit and there's already some great learnings and conversations happening.

Artificial intelligence is no longer a buzz word, it's increasingly part of people's every day. So what does that mean for the PR, Media and Communications landscape?

Lisa is attending the Sydney conference virtually, but the interactive morning sessions with Canva's Holly Ledlin, Freedom Furniture's Rebecca O'Hearn and Amazon Web Services' Matthew Wu already have her sharing insights with the team.

Early takeaways? Remain curious, try, test and review the various tools on offer, and if we think AI is saving us time now, just wait until we see what is around the corner.

Oh, and no one likes AI slop. But then, we already knew that 😉

And that's a wrap on AusMedtech 2026 for our CEO Sue Papadoulis, who spent 3 days at the event in Perth, speaking, meeting and touring the medtech ecosystem.

From the excitement of Start Up Ally to Minister Stephen Dawson's announcement of continued funding for the vital WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub, the conference was a great success for Perth - and the first time it's been staged in the city.

It was also the first time Sue had been invited to speak and chair a panel session, which is testament to our efforts to shine a light on the important companies having a real impact to change the lives of patients.

Sue's session was on recalls in the medtech industry and she was joined by Kylie Sprogston of Bellberry, Nathan Jone from the TGA and Moreica Pabbruwe from Royal Perth Hospital.

So many new ideas and an openness to explore - the good, the bad and the ugly, is central to the industry's growth.

Here's to a bright future for Australia's burgeoning medtech sector.

Nitesh’s client Armando Cruz shared, “You can’t buy a house just by yourself, you have to buy a house with your husband or wife to buy it, pretty much. You can’t do it by yourself.”

Australia’s housing market is forcing first home buyers to think differently, and for many younger Australians, cryptocurrency is becoming part of the equation.

Bitcoin.com.au recently featured in both realestate.com.au and Herald Sun, where General Manager Nic Roberts was interviewed about the platform’s recent Property Report, which surveyed 2000 Australians and found digital assets are increasingly helping younger buyers save for a home deposit.

Nic explained that while crypto is not a get-rich-quick scheme, many long-term investors have used digital assets to build deposits faster and gain an edge in an unaffordable property market.

Gillian Woodhouse recently shared her expert perspective on the issue in Startup Daily, examining the structural barriers continuing to push women out of STEM, despite decades of investment in education and capability.

What does it take to turn world leading medical research into globally commercialised innovation?

BiomeBank CEO Dr Sam Costello explores this in recent coverage by InDaily South Australia, following the company’s up to $15 million strategic investment from Blackmores Group.
