ok slightly embarrassing confession 😂
for the first few years of my newborn photography career i was scared to touch the babies. i’d settle one on dad’s chest, SEE the head was at a weird angle, and just take the photo anyway hahaha 🤣
i had this idea that moving them around was cheating. or that i’d wake her, or the parents would think that i had no clue what i was doing and be worried with me touching their baby. Then i realised i’m the photographer, i can see the final photo, i KNOW tilting her head 2cm makes it better, so why am i too scared to just do it lol
now i move babies constantly, i swear half the time i touch them more than the parents 😂😂 most times it’s tiny adjustments, like a head tilt, tucking a hand etc but it’s the whole difference between a nice photo and one that makes a parent cry i promise you! That also comes down to wrapping and settling the baby, usually i do that too because it’s the way i can pose them easier and get them in the position i want them.
if you’re scared to touch the baby, this is your sign. you’re in charge! go move the baby!!!
