WARNING you might find this a bit 🌶🌶🌶

You wouldn't open a retail store in a cardboard box.

Yet founders are skipping the foundational brand work entirely, then wondering why a Canva logo and "some colours that feel nice" aren't converting browsers into buyers.

I was reading Bobby Brown's memoir last week the makeup artist, not the singer and there's this beautiful thread running through her story about building retail experiences.

She talks about the design, the layout, the feeling of walking through the door, the intentional journey from discovery to purchase.

Every detail mattered because she understood something fundamental: the experience sells the product.

And it got me thinking about what we're all doing wrong.

Your Instagram feed, your website, your email - these aren't just marketing channels.

They're your retail stores, the spaces where your customer decides whether you're worth their money.

Yet we're treating them like afterthoughts, slapping on some Canva colours and hoping that strategy translates to sales.

That same rigour Bobby applied to her physical stores needs to apply to your digital spaces.

The messaging at every touchpoint, the clarity about who you're for and why you matter all shapes the intentionality behind every design choice.

You can't build a brand on aesthetics alone. That jsnt a brand that makes sales while you're sleeping.

And you absolutely can't compete in a saturated market by doing what everyone else is doing - which is nothing strategic at all.

But underneath it, if you dig far enough, there's usually a story that changes everything (emotional selling).

The lack of clarity is incredibly expensive for their business.

The best thing to have come from jumping into this entrepreneurial journey and starting my own business is ALL OF YOU.

The incredible women and men that I have met and built relationships with.

Not a day goes by where I am not thankful for the support network I have now around me.

It is the most valuable investment I have made.

I can pick up the phone or message anyone and they will be there to help me, how ever I need.

This is NOT the experience I had in corporate where I was constantly pulled down, put in a box, ostracised, walked on egg shells and minimised.

So to everyone that is on this journey with me, you make it worthwhile, enjoyable and I am eternally grateful for your love and support.

HEADLINES ALL IN CAPITALS ARE HARD TO READ, So Is Headlines Where The First Letter Is Capitalised Too (like AI gives you).

Your brain struggles to easily read headlines in both these formats.

ALL CAPITALS are ok when it is less than 5/6 words - any more, you slow the reader down too much.

Humans naturally choose the path of least resistance which means they just won't compute the message in the headline.

Making The First Letter A Capital too also hurts your brain, because your eye has to exhaustingly go Up Down Up Down Uo Down to try and read/digest.

And again, as we are naturally lazy, we skip over the hard work.

INSTEAD
Use sentence case where just the first letter is capitalised if you're writing longer headlines.

YES, this means you need to reformat what AI spits out at you ☺️

But the result will be more people reading your content.
