I used pattern recognition to convert an air conditioner to use propane as the gas instead of synthetic compound "R410A". That was in 2019. It started up first go, performs well, and has been working well ever since. It's about 27% cheaper to run than it was using the factory specified gas. Formulas have improved since then.
