I never want to wake up wondering what to post again.

And I don’t say that in a “look at me, I’m organised” kind of way.

I say it because I know that feeling.

Opening Instagram.

Staring at the blank screen.

Thinking…

What do I even say today?

And this week, while I’ve been mapping out my own content until launch, it hit me why so many accommodation owners feel stuck with social media.

It’s not because they’re lazy.

It’s not because they don’t care.

It’s not because their property isn’t beautiful enough.

It’s because they’re trying to create content without knowing where it’s meant to lead.

And honestly, that would overwhelm anyone.

Because when you’re running a holiday home, Airbnb, cottage, boutique stay or accommodation business, you’re already doing so much.

Cleaning.
Guest messages.
Bookings.
Repairs.
Laundry.
Pricing.
Reviews.
The weird little jobs nobody sees.

And then on top of that, you’re supposed to show up online and magically know what to post?

No wonder it feels hard.

What I’m learning as I build this program is that content doesn’t need to be fancy.

It needs to have a purpose.

Some posts help people find you.

Some help them trust you.

Some show them what it actually feels like to stay with you.

Some remind them they can book direct.

Some gently move them closer to making an enquiry.

And when you understand that, it stops feeling like you’re just throwing pretty photos into the void.

You start seeing the path.

Stranger.
Follower.
Dreaming about the stay.
Trusting you.
Booking.

That’s what I want to help accommodation owners build.

Not a perfect Instagram account.

Not content that takes hours and leaves you wanting to launch your phone into the sea.

A simple plan that helps your beautiful place be seen, remembered and booked.

Because you shouldn’t have to wake up wondering what to post.

You should know what you’re saying, why you’re saying it, and where it’s leading.

And my goodness, doesn’t that feel lighter?

In my defence...

I’m currently building a brand new program from scratch.

Which sounds exciting until you’re knee-deep in lesson plans, workbooks, content ideas, automations, sales pages, tech, emails and approximately 7,432 decisions.

Some days I feel like I’ve got it all figured out.

Other days I’m one minor inconvenience away from becoming a cow farmer in the Highlands of Scotland.

But we’re making progress.

One lesson, one workbook and one slight emotional breakdown at a time. 🤣

Who’s building something big behind the scenes right now?

My coach told me to stop building in secret.

So here I am.

Over the next few months I’ll be sharing the behind-the-scenes journey of building a new program for Airbnb hosts, boutique hotels, holiday cottages and short-term rental owners who want more confidence in their marketing and more direct bookings.

The exciting parts. The scary parts. And everything in between.

Here’s a question most accommodation owners don’t want to think about…

If Airbnb disappeared tomorrow, how would your property show up online?

Because if your entire marketing strategy relies on Airbnb, you’re not really building a brand.
You’re borrowing someone else’s audience.

The accommodation owners creating long-term freedom are building assets they own:

A little bit excited. A little bit terrified.

This week I’m officially starting the journey of building something I’ve been talking about for a very long time.

It’s called The Bothy.

For those who know my Scottish roots, a bothy is a simple shelter in the mountains. A place where travellers can rest, share stories, swap knowledge and find community before continuing their journey.

And that’s exactly what I want this to become.

A place for holiday accommodation owners who want to attract more guests, build confidence in their marketing, gain more direct bookings and connect with others who truly understand the journey they’re on.

Right now it’s still being built.

You’ll see the ideas, the lessons, the wins, the mistakes, the overthinking, the breakthroughs and everything in between.
