Hello from Vietnam 🇻🇳

My desk has disappeared under wood, fabric and samples as we work on what’s next for Anamalz. Baby Anamalz, Easter surprises, a Dragon and a Unicorn… narrowing it down is the hard part as there are so many ideas floating around.

I feel like a kid in a playground when I'm here. It takes me straight back to my childhood, when I’d gather up bits of material and turn them into a dolls’ house masterpiece. Not much has changed. The bits are just a little bigger now. Who would have thought that my hours cutting up carpet squares and making tiny fabric curtains as a 5 year old would have such a profound impact on my adult life.

The team made an Aussie with a mullet (just for fun - amazingly accurate!). Five snake samples are staring at me. The first was bigger than the Brontosaurus and rather scary 😂 !

Between the designs, there have been mooncakes and good food with the people who bring Anamalz to life.

A little organised chaos. And a whole lotta of heart.

Haha… okay, not really.

I’ve had a 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝘇 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 in my head for years.

Yes, I know wooden doll figures already exist. But there were a few things I always wanted to do differently.

A proper 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 — not a plain square block of wood hiding under clothes.

And the hair. Please. 𝗡𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱-𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿. 😂

This adorable man has soft, fluffy hair… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗱!
