Our lovely Jemma is soon to embark on her motherhood journey! It's a bittersweet moment, as it's hard to put into words how much we're going to miss having Jem as part of our team. She's been an invaluable asset to our clients, our team, our work culture, and our agency's success.

Jemma will be with us until mid-December 2023. We're currently in the process of internal handovers and transitions for the brands she has seamlessly managed.

Hi there,

I’m Felicity, your Brand Ideation woman. I first partnered with Lizzie in 2014 whilst living overseas, it was back then that we both realised our work ethic and goals aligned. Once I had moved back to Australia between growing our families and settling down, Lizzie and I knew we somehow needed to work together again. Accelerating the drive and tenacity we both had for the future!

I’ve been working at Agency Jean since 2019. It's been a whirlwind of diving into the deep end, night school, a bunch of short courses and hands-on experience that has contributed to where I am today.

At Agency Jean you’ll see me focusing on ideation with clients and Lizzie during the early stages of your partnership with Agency Jean.

I love having a round table meeting with clients, where we dive right into big bold ideation and see how we can disrupt the industry to help brands stand out instead of blending in.

The other part of my job, which you might not know, is to help drive the company vision and team implementation!

These statistics and trends were recently presented at our Creative Marketing Mastery event, and wow did we go in-depth on how to further your brand in 2023. So if you're a beauty or wellness business owner you need to read the below...

Here it is, the beauty and wellness industry is projected to be worth nearly $7.0 trillion USD by 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 9.9%? Amongst this, Australia is ranked the 10th largest wellness market in the world.

Australians are also big spenders on beauty products, with roughly $22 billion spent each year. However, ethical considerations play a role, as 46% of Australian women would avoid cosmetic products if they were involved in animal testing.

The Corporate Wellness industry is also on the rise, with a 6.4% increase forecasted for 2023. 🌟 This aligns with the trend towards wellness at work, as more and more companies recognise the importance of employee wellbeing.

Looking ahead, there are several exciting wellness trends to watch out for, including the focus on slowing down through mindfulness, fitness recovery, and spiritual wellbeing. Virtual experiences, AI, and virtual fitness are also gaining popularity, as are micro/express workouts and wellness experiences.

It's a bit of a weird time at the moment...some would say uncertain, scary, and others would say it's an exciting opportunity.

I can't deny that I've experienced some ups and downs in business, with brands putting the brakes on marketing spends, but then new clients signing on ready to build and market a new brand without the fear of an economic downturn.

The biggest message I need to share right now is that when a recession hits, opportunities also arise! Mindset is key during this time, staying in your lane and staying hyper-focused, filtering out other people's fears is crucial.

So here are a few things for brands to consider during a recession:

Successful marketing is more important than ever.

Remember: Recessions don't last forever.
Don't cut the marketing budget - increase instead.

Focus on an omnichannel strategy.

Companies with enough foresight to invest in post-recession recovery will see exponential returns as the economy grows again.

Consumers need change, your campaigns need to change with the climate.

There's a significant decrease in ad competition - a small percentage of brands are opportunists that thrive during this time.

Offer tiered services - provide consumers with options.

Partner with experts.

In a favourable media costs environment, brands may also find competitors have scaled back on advertising, which creates an opportunity for campaigns to have a greater impact.

PS: Industries least affected in an economic downturn include healthcare, cosmetics, consumer staples, and infant care & education.
