Katieβs polocrosse journey came first β she married into the sport over a decade ago and hasnβt looked back since. A long-time player with the Roma Polocrosse Club, sheβs heading into her 8th or 9th year as Club Secretary and has competed at QLD State Champs and Zones. Safe to say, polocrosse is well and truly in her blood.
Photography followed in 2020 when her husband bought her first βrealβ camera. What started as capturing their own Australian Stock Horses in action quickly grew, and Fine Filly officially launched in 2023. Katie was also part of the Official Photography Team at the 2024 Chinchilla Polocrosse Nationals, so Darwin will be another big milestone behind the lens.
Katie is a self-confessed sucker for quality horseflesh and says the Australian Stock Horse is the real MVP of the game. Her love for the sport, the horses, and the polocrosse community is what drives her work β with a strong focus on capturing the athleticism, grit, and beauty of the game while always presenting it in a positive light.
Youβll often find her parked near the 30-yard line, chasing those gritty battles, or smiling behind the camera while snapping Sub-Junior action β tiny legs, old horses, and all. One of her most special moments? Photographing her five-year-old son playing Subbies last year and capturing every loud, chatty, beautiful second of it β€οΈ
When sheβs trackside, Katieβs camera is glued to her hand β but her phone isnβt far away either, flicking favourites straight into Lightroom so she can share moments from the side of the field between games.
