Sure, I had earned a lot of money during my real estate career, but due to a lack of a consistent savings plan, and to losses from some bad investment choices, I had a bank account that was almost in the red :( I panicked and went into a big hole of depression. I was retirement age, and it was far too late to return to real estate or even to get a "job!"

This is when I contacted a long-term friend and colleague Emma Wasfi after seeing her post on FB. I CHOOSE THE LAPTOP LIFESTYLE! Could this work for you?

After working in various careers since I was 18, I retired a few years ago. We downsized and moved to a little village on the Darling Downs of Qld. I settled, created a new home for us, put in gardens and .. oh dear, then what?

Money was running out and boredom was setting in! I went into a few online businesses - gained a bit, but lost a lot! What to do?

WILL YOU BE SPENDING THE KID'S INHERITANCE? Opinions differ widely!

A mother has revealed she is happy spending her children's inheritance and doesn't feel guilty about it. Western Australian woman Trudy Wertheim, who is part of Gen X, said she has worked decades to provide for her family and now deserved to live how she wanted.

'There are generations coming through that just don't expect to work,' she told Yahoo. 'They expect to inherit or be given or bought a family home by their parents.'

She said many parents probably didn't instill a strong work ethic in their kids, which may explain why some younger generations have a sense of entitlement.

Trudy said she plans to enjoy her hard-earned money now before age catches up with her. 'I don't want to be in Bali at 80 and falling down and breaking my leg.' She said her kids will not be left empty-handed. She will leave her paid off property to her twins and her grandchildren will receive smaller amounts.

Ms Wertheim is part of a global trend known as SKI: 'Spending Your Kid's Inheritance'.

However, critics have blasted the SKI trend as selfish, believing boomers and Gen Xers should be saving their money to leave for their children and not spending it on themselves. Some argue they should be helping their children through the cost-of-living crisis and so they can get a foot on the property ladder.

What choices does today bring for you?

For me, it is a walk with Charley on this cattle property, then spending time learning new AI marketing skills, and focusing on my 90-day run to $30K. It is exciting to know that, although I am retired (sort of!) I can still learn new things and create a secure financial future - no matter where I am!

Arianne Titmus - a true champion!

Titmus’ own world record of 3:55.38 remains intact. Her time here - 3:57.49 - was considerably slower, but that didn’t bother the tough, Tasmanian-born swimmer with nails painted sparkling gold. She has not lost a 400m race since 2018 and there is no sign of her dominance fading.

“I hope nobody looks at me any differently.
