If the headline in your homepage's hero section could belong to any business in your industry, it's not working hard enough.

Your hero headline gets about three seconds to earn a second look, and "professional care for all your health needs" wastes every one of them. It's polished, but it tells a visitor nothing about who you help or why they should stay.

The shift is easy: specific beats "professional", and useful beats clever.

Same chiropractor, two headlines πŸ‘‡

❌ Professional care for all your health needs
βœ… Chiropractic care for Perth locals who are done putting up with back pain

The second one names who it's for and what's actually going on for them, so the right person feels seen and keeps reading.

Take a moment to look at the headline of your own website. In a few seconds, can someone answer:

・ What do you sell?
・ Who is it for?
・ Why should they care?
・ What can they do next?

If it can't pass that, it's quietly costing you enquiries you'll never even see.

Not sure your homepage headline is pulling its weight? A website audit is a good place to start, get in touch if you'd like more info πŸ’™

There's a point a lot of business owners reach where the website feels like it's not quite doing its job, so the instinct is to add to it. Another page, another section, a few more words to explain everything.

But more rarely fixes it. If your site has slowly grown and the enquiries still aren't coming, the answer usually isn't another page β€” it's a clearer one. One offer, one next step, a handful of pages that each do their job well.

A simpler website isn't the lazy option or the cheap one. More often than not, it's the smarter one. If yours has crept bigger over time and you're not quite sure what's pulling its weight, that's worth a proper look. We'd love to help you work out what's worth keeping, get in touch πŸ’™

New website for Eve's Home Organising, and this one was a joy to build 🀍

Eve helps people across Perth create calmer, more functional homes, and she came to us knowing exactly what she wanted: something minimal, luxe, and completely uncluttered. Nothing fussy, nothing loud... just a beautiful space to let her work shine.

So that's what we made her:
🌿 A single-page Wix website with smooth, easy scrolling that flows from top to bottom
🌿 Services and pricing laid out with room to breathe, so each one's easy to take in
🌿 A TidyCal booking system built from scratch and branded to match, so clients go from browsing to booked in a couple of taps

Every scroll feels calm and considered, which is exactly how Eve's work feels in person. A calm, effortless site does more than look good, it makes saying yes feel simple.

If your gut is saying something is off about your website, it's usually right.

Usually it's not one big problem, just a few small things adding up.

Are you spotting any of these on your own website?

Your website doesn't need to be fancy. It needs to make it easy for the right people to find you and get in touch.

These five things are some of the most common culprits πŸ‘‰

We recently built a new website for a local settlement agent. Their old website had been working well for them, but the business had grown and they were ready for something that matched where they were now.

Within the first few days after launching their new website, the quote requests were already coming through. Six months on, they'd had over 70 submitted.

That doesn't happen by accident. The site was built to guide people toward getting in touch...

πŸ‘‰ Clear calls to action that point people to the "Get a Quote" form
πŸ‘‰ A form that's easy to find, not buried
πŸ‘‰ A layout that makes it simple to take action, not just read

A good-looking website is the starting point. One that's built to convert is what actually brings in the work.

If you want your website to start bringing in more enquiries, let's talk πŸ’™

A page or Instagram account is a great place to be found when you first start out, but it's not something you actually own.

If Meta decides to change how things work, or your account gets locked, everything you've built can disappear overnight.

Your website doesn't come with that risk. It's yours, it's always online, and it gives people a proper place to find you and get in touch.

If "finally sort out my website" has been sitting on your list, let this be your motivation to move it up, and feel free to pass the reminder on to anyone you know who's been putting it off too πŸ’™

For most businesses, more than half of website visitors are browsing on their phones.

So a mobile-friendly site isn't optional anymore, it's a necessity. Here are a few things that a well-optimised website does right:

πŸ‘‰ Text that's big enough to read easily
πŸ‘‰ Buttons that are simple to tap
πŸ‘‰ Images that load fast and resize cleanly

Take a minute to check your own site on your phone, how does it look to a potential client?

Check out this brand new website for Drift Dental Co. πŸŒŠπŸ’›

Coastal and calm, this website was all about creating a feeling. Drift Dental Co aren't your usual dental practice, they're family owned and family focused, a truly welcoming place that's there for every member of your famliy.

Drift Dental Co. took over an established practice and rebranded from the ground up: new name, new identity, a fresh coastal direction. So the site had a job to do beyond looking beautiful, it needed to make people feel calm and cared for before they'd even walked through the door.

To help create that calm, caring feeling, we:

🌊 Added subtle, gentle movement throughout, so it feels relaxed rather than busy
🌊 Included warm, family-focused imagery that makes the practice feel welcoming
🌊 Linked their booking system in directly, so it's quick and easy for clients to book an appointment

The right website doesn't just inform, it makes people feel something. And that feeling is what they remember.

Most people decide within 5 seconds whether to stay on your website or click away.

In those 5 seconds, they're asking themselves three things:

1️⃣ Do I understand what this person or business does?
2️⃣ Are their services for someone like me?
3️⃣ What do I do next?

If your homepage doesn't answer all three straight away, you may be losing clients before they've even had a chance to get to know you.

It's worth jumping on your own homepage right now and looking at it through fresh eyes - does it clearly answer these three questions?
