Found a print at the op shop of a classic Australian artwork, The Pioneer and did a little rework.

The original 3 piece artwork by Frederick McCubbin shows a family settling into the Australian bush and is used to reflect the rising sense of Australian Identity after Federation in 1901.

I wanted to rework this story and show that before colonisation, there was already over 250 nations when Australia was “established”. These nations are still here today. The bush always has and always will hold the spirits of our ancestors and our culture. 🙏🏽

I got gifted a rose recently that I obviously had to turn into art. The story behind this artwork is about connection, learning lessons and sharing knowledge with ourselves, Mother Earth and its beautiful creatures.

This one is not for sale but keep an eye out, I’ll be posted some frames for sale in the coming weeks 👀

Did you know the Murray River has recently been listed as critically endangered?!?!?!?

🩵 What does that mean?
The Lower River Murray and its connected waterways and eco-systems face a high risk of collapse. This could happen within the next 10 years!

🩵 How did this happen?
There are lots of factors including climate change, droughts, invasive species and upstream communities in Victoria and New South Wales extracting too much water from the river.

🩵 What can you do to help?
Be sure to talk to people in your life about this issue and keep the conversation going. Write letters to your local members of parliament, especially if you live or are connected to a community along the Murray River.
You can also visit the link in my bio or visit the Murray-Darling Conservation Alliance website to take action.

This bila flows through Wiradyuri country and holds cultural significance for us. It’s also a place me and my friends regularly spend time at and we value a lot. Pleaseeeee help save our beautiful bila!

Applied for the .melbourne First Peoples Naarm Art Tram. Sadly didn’t get selected but I’m actually so proud of myself for creating this piece about one of my fave plants, the kurrajong.

Melbourne is known as the capital coffee of the world but our people have been using kurrajong seeds to create a coffee like drink for over 60,000+ years; well before Melbourne ever existed.

We also create some of the strongest rope from this plant and we use it to make fish traps and other items.

I wanted this piece to show the beauty, creativity and ingenuity of my people and culture and the love I have for creating on and with country. 🤍💛🧡🤎

Grateful for the opportunity to again work with . This time I created a new shirt for them and I loveeeee it (and it’s so comfy!).

We made sure to have the sleeves a dark blue so any first aid related incidents will be hidden. (Swipe to the end to see the final artworks) 🤍🩵💙

Christmas gifts for my brother and sister. 🎅🏾
I got these ostrich eggs that belonged to Pop before he passed away and I did some artworks on them.

Love doing a handmade Christmas. It’s a way I can thoughtfully giving gifts without giving into consumerism and creating more junk in this world.

Over the past 6 weeks I’ve facilitated workshops at alongside the young people from OLLY.

We worked on creating our own symbols to tell our personal stories on wall hangings and glassware.

So grateful for this opportunity and to be able to share my love of storytelling through symbolism with the younger generation. 🌼
