One Small Step Collective We are a data driven creative agency. So for us it was time. It has fundamentally changed and its not going back.

We represent a different opinion for modern business blending Data, Technology and Creativity to create measurable results. The opening of channels and opportunities through the fragmentation and growth of new media has led to a communication explosion unseen since the renaissance. Now although this sounds super modern and exciting, clients still nd themselves being pushed through an advertising

structure that was built in the 50s. One Small Step Collective was put together as a new kind of o ering – a company that is built on di erent foundations to the traditional model. We built our agency around the fact that business is not the same, consumers
are not the same, culture is not the same
and communication is not the same.

With the increase in global advertising, our Cognitive Immunity is growing. It's a way our brain filters out messages. Basically, if it feels like we have seen or heard the message before, there is much less chance of it being remembered.
Don't be like the category. No one remembers a single sheep in a herd. Be the black sheep, or better still, be a unicorn.

'Killing babies' is a horribly accurate term used in the creative industry to describe the process of 'filtering' your ideas. Creating ideas is such a hard yet rewarding pursuit, and when you flesh them out you can't help but put a part of yourself into them.

But at the same time we need to accept our limitations, sometimes experience and humanity is not enough of a filter to separate good ideas from average. That's why the right data is so important. Data doesn't have emotional attachments. Data doesn't care what your friends and family think. That's why it's the perfect partner for creativity. Data creates more opportunities for creatives to be in the right space more of the time. And that's worth sacrificing a few of our babies.

Data Driven Creativity is about blending two mindsets.
There are statistics that show that around the age of 2, we are at our ‘peak creative ability’ before society starts to conform our thinking into what is 'acceptable'. Now, we wouldn’t want a 2 year old to think of your next ad campaign (even though it might be incredibly awesome).
At One Small Step, our process is about keeping the creative person in the child’s thinking; where curiosity, imagination and wonder rule. And then layering in the scientific mind. This side is about logic, facts, persistence and understanding.

Together, they form the basis of the data driven creative.
