✨ Behind the Scenes of Our Latest Engagement Sign ✨

Here are the progress shots of a very special piece we recently created for Michael & Stephanie’s engagement. 💍

Every project begins with our clients, we chat about fonts, colours, etching styles and metal finishes to bring their vision to life. From there, the process is a true labour of love:

🔹 Designing and masking the glass for acid & silvering
🔹 Two-tone etching, deep for the tree lines, rough grit for texture
🔹 Hand-painting with custom blends that adhere perfectly to glass
🔹 Water gilding with 24kt gold, doubled and burnished for a flawless mirror shine
🔹 Protecting with gold backing with gold paint and black sealant
🔹 Finishing with a custom laser-cut frame for safe transport & display

This project took around 2 weeks, combining years of experience, patience, and craftsmanship into one unique artwork. 🌟

🔍 Materials Matter: Cast vs. Extruded — What’s the Difference?

When it comes to working with acrylic, vinyl, or metals, knowing the material origin makes all the difference in how we cut, engrave, and finish.

Let’s break it down:

🟫 Cast Material
✔️ Poured into molds and cured
✔️ Denser, more stable, and resistant to heat
✔️ Engraves beautifully with a frosted finish
✔️ Great for signage, awards, and detailed engraving

🟦 Extruded Material
✔️ Pushed through rollers and shaped
✔️ More uniform but softer and more flexible
✔️ Doesn’t engrave as cleanly — can melt or warp under high heat
✔️ Best for budget-friendly fabrication and flat cutting
