Advertising spend has hit a record high in August despite ongoing lockdowns, the month was 26.6% higher than the same month last year. August was the sixth month in a row to project year-on-year growth. Digital and TV media are both reporting record levels for August ad spend, with digital bookings up 28.6% year-on-year and TV bookings up 29%.

Commercial radio is making waves with advertising revenue increasing in August despite lockdowns. Revenue for the month was up by 16.8% when compared to August 2020, according to data published by Commercial Radio Australia. Advertising revenue for the five major Australian capital city markets amounted to $49.65 million.
