Nerdyness Helping small businesses be found, considered and chosen by more of their ideal customers. Hi, I'm Rose from Nerdyness.

We help small businesses to be found, considered and CHOSEN by more of their ideal clients. This helps them increase their revenue, which enables them to more fully enjoy their business and the flexibility and lifestyle they intended it to provide for them, to live the life of their dreams. Thatโ€™s why we start or buy a business in the first place isnโ€™t it? And thatโ€™s what weโ€™re about, bringing in more clients. We do this by helping transition from an existing website that's not generating the results you need (because itโ€™s either old/outdated/not mobile/tablet friendly or they just donโ€™t know why), to a site that you know showcases why your product/service is awesome and your potential customers should totally contact you. Imagine: finally proud to share your website to the universe, shout if from the social media platforms you haunt, and link the heck out of it on your e-mail signature and more! Weโ€™re also a great fit for startups who need to get an effective online presence so that they hit the ground running and attract their ideal customers sooner, to get the cashflow happening. We know the pitfalls of small businesses starting out, we used to train in Small Business Management and Sales and Marketing, so if ever youโ€™ve wanted to hit the ground running from the get-go, then we can totally make that happen, supporting you along the way. So, if youโ€™re looking for a personal approach, someone to guide you and work with you towards increased effectiveness, not a faceless out of the box provider, then Rose from Nerdyness could be the help you need. In an effort to showcase the fabulous work we do a bit more often on the socials (yes, weโ€™re just as guilty as everyone else in needing to do that more - weโ€™re working on it!), weโ€™re going to be posting some site showcases to give our viewers an idea of the types of sites we can make and the wide variety of businesses we can help.
So to kick off September's showcase, weโ€™re excited to show off the new website for TESS โ€“ Training & Employment Support Service. Training Employment Support Service Inc - RTO 1826

Behind every website is a story and TESS has a strong one.
For more than four decades, TESS has been helping people across Queensland access training, build skills and create new employment opportunities.
Their work is grounded in community, support and practical education, so it was important that their website felt approachable, easy to navigate and focused on the people they serve.
Weโ€™re proud to have helped bring that story into a refreshed digital experience.
What we loved about this project was the challenge to have clear navigation for site visitors due to their variety of topics to cover.

That meant improving how information is structured, making important pathways easier to find and creating a more consistent experience across the website.
Just some of the many navigation aspects to factor in:
Delivery locations, campuses, course categories and options including information on traineeships, highlighting the massive community focus that TESS is well known for, and meeting compliance requirements for RTO marketing material obligations.

Not to mention the great variety of colours in their logo to sprinkle throughout the site whilst ensuring text remained readable.
The result is a clearer, more modern digital experience designed to help visitors explore courses, understand their options and take the next step with confidence.

Just like just like during the pandemic, having a large stash of toilet paper on hand gave you that sense of comfort.
For me, so does having a large stash of tea (Australian-grown and owned, shipped directly to our door).
For those that know me, I'm . So rest assured I'm sorted again for the next few months.

Weโ€™ve been nerding out with the legends at the Lions Club of Mooloolaba, helping them set up their social media posting software (they will be using our fabulous Postable Pro software) and create a more streamlined way to stay visible in the community.

Because greater visibility can help them reach more people, attract new members and continue supporting worthwhile projects across the Sunshine Coast, throughout Australia and internationally.

The Lions Club brings together people who want to contribute their time, skills and energy to make a genuine difference. Weโ€™re proud to help make their social media a little easier, so they can spend more time focused on the important work they do.

Security is necessary, but occasionally it provides a brilliant moment of entertainment.

Yesterday I encountered a reCAPTCHA verification that showed a picture of a standard microwave. It asked me to click on the objects that could safely be put inside it. Alongside the usual culprits like a cup of tea and a loaf of bread, the options seriously included an excavator and a tractor.

It certainly makes a change from identifying traffic lights, crosswalks and motorbikes. More importantly, it gave me a good laugh during a busy workday. As small business owners, we are often told to think big and scale our operations, but I think attempting to fit an agricultural tractor into a kitchen appliance might be taking that advice a step too far.

That said, his is a friendly reminder that reCAPTCHA fields for logging into sites are very handy to have. If you have got an important system, consider whether you have got the most up-to-date version and not just the general click here to verify you are not a robot. Security is so important these days.

To finish on a lighter note, what is the most intriguing security prompt you've come across lately?

I want to give a shout-out to the Lions Club of Mooloolaba.

These volunteers do an incredible amount of work behind the scenes, raising funds and supporting people right here in our local community, as well as contributing to important causes across Australia and around the world through Lions International.

One of their biggest fundraisers is the Fisherman's Road Markets, and if you haven't been before, it's definitely worth checking out. You'll find a huge variety of stalls, great local businesses, fresh produce, food vendors, crafts, gifts, and plenty more.

The best part is that when you support the markets, you're also helping support the amazing work the Lions Club does. The revenue generated goes back into community projects and charitable initiatives that make a real difference.

This financial year, are you planning to invest in:

> Attracting more clients?
> Reducing admin?
> Getting more organised with your marketing?

If so, Postable Pro could be exactly what you need.

Postable Pro helps small business owners stay active and visible across the channels their customers are already using, without social media becoming another overwhelming task on the list.

I came across a story this week about a 102-year-old man still helping people with their computersโ€ฆ and honestly, I love everything about it.

Dean Simes only got his first computer this century, and now heโ€™s become the go-to person in his community for tech support, helping others understand something that many still find overwhelming.

Thereโ€™s something really powerful in that.

Not just the longevityโ€ฆ but the mindset.

A genuine curiosity to keep learning.
A willingness to stay relevant.
And a desire to help others, person to person, not just point them to a help article and move on.

Thatโ€™s the kind of approach I admire.

Itโ€™s also exactly why I love what I do.

Coaching business owners to streamline their processes, systemise the moving parts, and actually use the tools available to them properlyโ€ฆ not just have them sitting there unused or half set up, presuming someone in the business is using things efficiently and with ease.

Because when someone understands how to use their systems well, everything changes.
Less overwhelm. More clarity. Better results.

And ideally, with a bit of fun along the way too.

I hope Iโ€™m still learning, adapting and sharing what I know well into my later years.

Because if a 102-year-old can stay curious, helpful and across technologyโ€ฆ

Weโ€™ve really got no excuse. (Well I guess I'm off to watch another AI tutorial to stay relevant! Good one Dean, you're amazing)
