Not even 5 weeks on my Italian honeymoon could fix the inevitable winter blues that return the same time, EVERY YEAR.

And yet here I am doing and saying the same things and hoping for a different result.

“FARKKKK it’s cold”
“Winter is making me feel so depressed”
“When do you think it will stop being cold?”
“I don’t remember it being this cold last year!”

And so, with the new bloom of my favourite orchid this week, I am reminded that winter is only temporary and soon, many business owners will feel that renewed sense momentum as spring begins too.

If you’ve been feeling that sense of hibernation and stagnation that winter often brings, look extra hard for the things that start blooming in your life and business this week 🌹

Currently in my bridal era which COINCIDENTALLY happens to be very on brand with my business.

It’s no mistake that my business is an extension of who I am.

In fact, I think it can be a trap trying to make our businesses so distinctively different to who we are personally.

I think it’s harder to show up from a place of truth and transparency.

Because trying to be something you’re not is really quite exhausting!

How much does your brand reflect who you are? ❤️

On the Eve of my 30th birthday, I was blessed and flattered to have one of the best podcast interviews with for her new podcast on getting unstuck.

Helen is one of those people who really listens closely to how people have become the people they are today. She wrote an extraordinary introduction about me (which nearly made me cry) and then ran the interview like a boss asking thoughtful, truthful and important questions about the times in my life and career where I have felt stuck and how I moved through those moments.

And beautifully, she enquired about what made those moments possible and how I learned to be brave enough to take paths a little less trodden and take risks that perhaps others didn’t respect.

And my response was, truly through no effort of my own, I was brought up by parents who believed in me and what I wanted to do in life. Who taught me to stand confidently and bravely because what I had to offer was and is inherently valuable.

And maybe I’m feeling nostalgic and reflective but the work that I do is all about showing women that what they have to offer has value and is worthy of appreciation and reward.

And so my birthday eve has me scrolling through the many Claudia’s that I’ve been over the last three decades and feeling an immense amount of pride that I think we did good guys!!!

Every age is a great age. What a delight and a gift to be aging hopefully outrageously rather than gracefully.

More tomorrow on the big day.

❤️

P.S / check the last glamour shot of my sisters and I that I will definitely be recreating for my own kids.

Have you made an amazing connection online only to be continually shocked when you FINALLY meet in real life?

ALL THE TIME.

I finally met the beautiful this week at the planning day. And for a lot of the women in the room, they were also having the same experience of delight in meeting a great connection IRL.

And all it does is further enforce the power of connection between great women in business.

It doesn’t matter if it’s on a zoom call, fleetingly in a Facebook group or from afar at an event, women KNOW how to connect.

It’s what we do 🥳🥳

A coupla festive elves singing coffee carols at our final Power Moves Coffee Club for the year 🤩

We took Alison Bornstein’s Three Word Style Method and applied it to our businesses starting with:

❤️ your baseline word - what does your business currently represent to you? What’s one word you’d use to describe it?

❤️ your aspirational word. What does your dream business look like? What would be one word to describe it?

❤️ your emotional word. How do you want to feel about your business?

You end up with three powerful words that allow you to make decisions that are in alignment with what you’re all about. Always making sure that 2 of the 3 words are present and connected to the outcome.

It’s always so special spending time together. The connection is priceless. Missing a few key faces but there in spirit.

Merry Christmas from PMC to you 🎄❤️

Here are 3 things I’m doing before Christmas:

1. Ditching s**t off my to do list that can wait until the new year

2. Checking in with all of my clients and members to see how they are (really) and not just a merry Christmas bye all the best

3. Taking extra time to care for my health and energy (more sleep, more ocean, more fresh air)

Everyone is exhausted and we can feel it. The by Christmas deadline is lame. Take care of you and I promise your business won’t go extinct ❤️

I bought some new glasses this week and felt pretty shmick.

New glasses, new me etc.

But when I started wearing them, I felt WEIRD. The prescription was different. The focus was different. The style was different.

I found it hard to adjust. So I rang the optometrist and asked her if it was normal to feel a bit weird wearing new glasses.

And she gave me her professional advice which involved 2 options - give it some time to adjust or come back in over the next week, and we will retest and make sure you have the right prescription.

And if this isn’t a metaphor for running a business, I’m not sure what is.

Running a business is a perpetual series of feeling weird, sitting in the weirdness and making adjustments in be. It also often involves asking questions (despite feeling silly) and finding the right experts.

If you’re feeling weird right now, I want you to know that you aren’t alone. We are all feeling a little weird in a funny market, changing buyer preferences and rising costs.

But I guarantee that sitting in the weirdness will give you the insight of what comes next. It forces you to question, investigate, set some stuff on fire and eventually, evolve.

So from my new glasses and I to you, it’s ok to feel a bit weird rn ❤️

On our Power Moves Club call this morning, we pulled this card.

We all jumped on the call and the energy was flat (me included). That end of year fatigue coming in hot and the sparkle dimming a touch.

I asked our members to close their eyes and reflect on what they really need help with right now.

And the cards delivered.

It reminded us that:
⚡️ what you focus on is what you pull closer towards you
⚡️ direct your intent to one thing rather than diluting your focus and feeling scattered
⚡️ we have the resources within us to determine which is the most important thing and work steadily towards it

I might start doing a weekly oracle card on behalf of the PMC community and share it with you here. What do you think? Do you need a little bit of witchy guidance right now?

I think we all do ❤️

Good morning from me and an extra strong coffee from my FAVOURITE cafe in my old neighbourhood which I still come to because that coffee is that good.

How far are you willing to travel for your favourite things?

A great cafe? An excellent cookie? An amazing hairdresser?

I’ll make any excuse. Because I appreciate good quality and excellent service. I like that the cafe knows my order and my name. They’re surprised if I change my order.

It’s one of the things I care most about in business. I want to know people’s name, if they have a dog, why they wake up every day to work and what they like to do when the sun is shining.

Get curious about your customers and ask them questions.

One of the greatest missed opportunities when marketing your business is being afraid to ask your audience questions. And yet their answers give you the most insight into what they’re all about and how you can help them.

Are you willing to get curious?

🥳 Allow me to reintroduce myself 🥳

Hello gorgeous woman.

I'm Claudia Neal-Shaw - the literal professional wingwoman to the stars (that's you)

I teach female entrepreneurs and women in business how to market themselves with confidence and build a powerful personal brand.

I believe that every woman can make power moves every single day to build the business of her dreams.

So here's my story of how I got started in online business and why I continue to ride the rollercoaster that is entrepreneurship.

Swipe left for the journey so far but here are a few highlights:
⚡️Early signs of entrepreneurship
⚡️Leaving my law career behind to go full time into my marketing consulting business
⚡️ Dramatically changing the business model mid-covid
⚡️ Launching a course, a membership, a podcast and 4 live events in the last 18 months (wowwwweeee)

I know how much power there is in sharing stories because baby Claudia lusted after the same thing: to hear from other great women who have done what I want to do.

So tell me below - what's your story? I'd love to know ❤
