Big news in the marketing measurement world - Andy Ford has joined Analytic Partners as Associate Vice President!

Anyone working in measurement, effectiveness or marketing analytics will know Andy’s track record. From building out marketing science at Meta to leading data intelligence at Coles 360, he’s spent years tackling some of the industry’s toughest measurement questions.

Now he’s turning that focus to the bigger picture: helping marketers understand how media and marketing actually work together across the full ecosystem and how measurement can shift from hindsight to foresight.

It’s a big move for Analytic Partners - and a sign of plenty of good work to come.

When does persuasion become manipulation?

Most marketers probably have a gut feel for when something crosses the line - but with unfair trading practices moving into regulatory focus, that line is about to be defined more clearly.

A proposed update to Australian Consumer Law would introduce a broad prohibition on conduct that unreasonably manipulates consumers or distorts the environment in which they make decisions.

In his latest op-ed in Mumbrella, Peter Leonard, Chair of ADMA’s Regulatory and Advocacy Working Group, unpacks what that could mean in practice - from ‘Dark Patterns’ and hard-to-find opt-outs to design choices that subtly steer decisions.

It’s a timely read for anyone building digital experiences today - check out the full op-ed link below 👇

Early starts are always worth it when it's to help spread the word about something important – and the Male Confidence Index is definitely that.

Frank Arthur smashed his appearance on the Today Show to talk about Man of Many's new research project, which highlights a lot of big challenges and opportunities facing men today.

Why is this important? As Frank explains: "Confidence shapes how men show up in the world – as partners, fathers, colleagues and friends."

📊 Some key stats show some stark differences between the generations:
• Gen Z men score 66/100 in overall confidence, while Gen X hit a midlife low of 60/100
• 61% of Gen Z could express emotions with their fathers growing up, compared to just 30% of Gen X
• Only 38% of Gen X men feel comfortable showing vulnerability (vs 51% of Gen Z)

There's a lot to unpack here for everyone – we recommend you hop in and dissect this important report for yourself. Link below to download the full report and watch the segment from on the Today Show.

Time to get this par-TEA started! 🍵🎉

Congratulations to our client and industry social enterprise UnLtd. which today launched its one-of-a-kind tea range Mood in over 865 Woolworths Supermarkets across Australia!

We’re proud to work with UnLtd as its official PR partner, and are thrilled to have seen blanket trade coverage for the launch.

There’s great strength in numbers, and the initiative is truly making a difference for vulnerable young Aussies across the community.

Looking forward to getting our hands on some of the sweet brews later today!

It's been a week since Advertising Week Europe: Creative Capital, and what an event it was! 🇬🇧🇪🇺

Held this year in Central London, the event was a smashing success, with the vibrant crowd clearly excited to be back to in-person sessions.

With 300 speakers over three days there was a lot to see. Luckily for you, all the content is analysed and compressed into the upcoming Advertising Week Trend Report, written by us at Clear Hayes Consulting.

For those who weren't able to make it, or are just looking for a compiled round up of all the upcoming trends, the report will be out early June.

Thanks for having us Advertising Week, we can't wait till AW-APAC in August! See you all there.

This question is exactly what we tackled this week on Connected, created by Meta and produced by Clear Hayes. The latest episode takes a look at messaging, with host Dan Monheit investigating just how messaging has become the go-to form of communication for most of us.

Putting the leg (work) in legends and bringing SXSW to Sydney. 🏃‍♀️🤳

Our very own Akansha and Alex took to the stage last night to showcase some key marketing and media trends they learnt at at the annual session. From the new age of gathering to identity in the metaverse, there was plenty on the agenda and even more to discover.

A special thanks to fellow speakers Greg Graham and Sarah May, in addition to Adrianne Nixon and Mastercard for organising a wonderful event full of insights - we can't wait for the next one!

Episode three of Clear Hayes-produced podcast has just dropped, and this week we're talking...goldfish? 🐟🎙

"Give Me Your Attention" debunks some of the biggest myths about the topic (including that human attention span is shorter than a goldfish) and proves why all advertisers should be paying attention to, well, attention.
