Ahead of Anzac Day, we paired Les Hill with the team at — a charity doing deeply important work supporting veterans, current ADF members, and their families in moments of real need.
“As someone who has served, it was incredibly moving to see firsthand the care, urgency, and humanity behind what they do.
The truth is, the transition from service to civilian life can be incredibly difficult. For many veterans, the challenges don’t stop when the uniform comes off — and too often, they face them alone.
Wounded Heroes is there in those critical moments, providing 24/7 crisis support for people facing financial hardship, homelessness, domestic violence, and personal crisis. From food and fuel to emergency accommodation, they step in when there is nowhere else to turn.
They receive no government funding. Every act of support comes from people willing to give what they can”.
If you’re able to, please consider donating. It doesn’t have to be much — but it could be the thing that helps someone feel safe, seen, and supported in their hardest moment.
