Dear God,
When the world feels loud and my thoughts won't settle, help me recognize Your voice above every other voice. When I'm unsure which way to go, when advice pulls me in different directions, teach me to slow down and listen for You. Remind me that You still speak into ordinary days, and that I can know Your leading without having everything figured out. “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27)

Father, quiet the noise in me that drowns You out. Give me a heart soft enough to hear You and brave enough to follow what You say. When I feel stuck waiting for a sign, help me trust that You're near and that You guide me with love. Speak clearly into the places where I've been guessing, and help me walk in what I hear with peace.

In Jesus' name, amen. 🙏

What happens when choosing God starts costing you almost everything you worked for? ⤵️

David Henrie became famous playing Justin Russo on Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place.” But as his faith became more serious, he faced a choice that could hurt his career.

There were roles he believed crossed a line. Taking them could mean more money and more opportunities, but Henrie decided some things were worth more than success.

→ “I’m just not going to do something that I think will disrespect my belief now or disrespect our Lord.”

So he started saying no.

And according to Henrie, the cost came fast. He lost agents. He turned down roles. He lost money. Friends walked away. Even his girlfriend at the time was gone.

→ “I kind of was stripped of everyone, everyone that I would call a friend.”

But that loss changed the people he allowed close to him. Henrie found new friends who took Christ seriously, challenged him, gave him books to read, and helped him grow deeper in his faith. That path eventually led him to his wife, whom he now calls his best friend.

But years later, something happened that he never expected.

Some of the same people who walked away started coming back. And now he sometimes gets messages like:

→ “Hey, just want you to know I went to church this Sunday.”

Following Christ does not mean you will never lose anything. Sometimes faithfulness really does cost you.

But Jesus never promised that following Him would be comfortable. He promised that He would be worth it.
