A distinction many Christians have never been taught.

Biblical Israel and the modern State of Israel are not the same thing.

Likewise, biblical references to Zion should not automatically be equated with modern political Zionism.

This confusion has shaped much Christian thinking for decades — including in many churches here in Australia.

Whether you agree or disagree, the topic deserves careful study, honest discussion, and a faithful reading of Scripture.

What are your thoughts? Do you think most Christians understand the distinction?

TODAY'S REFLECTION: WHEN OBEDIENCE TO GOD COMES FIRST...

Moses defied Pharaoh.

Esther defied the laws of Persia.

Jesus challenged the religious authorities of His day.

Peter stood before the Sanhedrin and declared: "We must obey God rather than men."

Paul refused to stop proclaiming Christ despite the power of Rome.

Scripture does not teach blind obedience to earthly power.

Christians are called to respect legitimate authority, pray for leaders, and work for peace. But when human authority demands what is contrary to truth, justice, or God's law, our first allegiance belongs to God.

The saints, prophets, apostles, and martyrs remind us that faith sometimes requires courage, discernment, and a willingness to stand apart from the crowd.

"We must obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)

What a family tradition! The Razzouk family brought their trade to the Holy Land over seven hundred years ago. For generations, Christians traveling to Jerusalem have sought them out to receive the traditional Jerusalem Cross. The symbol itself, consisting of one large cross and four smaller ones, represents the five wounds of Christ.

Historically, receiving this mark was the physical proof that a pilgrim had successfully completed the long journey to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It served as a permanent stamp of devotion for those who traveled across the world to walk where Christ walked.

The tradition remains entirely unbroken today.

The family still uses wooden stamps carved centuries ago to place the initial design before inking it into the skin.

Getting a tattoo here is a direct physical connection to an ancient lineage of faith and a testament to enduring heritage.

THE FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI - This weekend, Catholics around the world celebrate Corpus Christi — the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

This beautiful feast is a joyful proclamation of one of the central truths of the Catholic faith: that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Holy Eucharist — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

Corpus Christi reminds us that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol or remembrance, but Christ Himself, who remains with His people and nourishes us with His divine life.

May this feast renew our love for the Holy Mass, deepen our reverence for the Blessed Sacrament, and draw us ever closer to Our Lord.

O Sacrament Most Holy,
O Sacrament Divine,
All praise and all thanksgiving
Be every moment Thine.

Whether you agree or disagree with the speakers, understanding what is happening in the United States may help Australians better understand the challenges emerging here at home.

PRAYER FOR
CHURCH LEADERS

Lord Jesus Christ,
watch over those who are leaders in your Church.
Keep them faithful to their vocation
and to the proclamation of your message.
Teach them to recognize and interpret the signs of the times.
Strengthen them with the gifts of the Spirit,
and help them to serve their subjects,
especially the poor and lowly.
Give them a vivid sense of your presence in the world
and a knowledge of how to show it to others.

Amen.

TODAY’S INSIGHT: FAITH, AI, AND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN

As AI rapidly reshapes work, society, and the future, Christians need to think deeply about what it means to be human.

In this thoughtful discussion, John Lennox explores faith, science, technology, consciousness, and why no machine can replace the human person.

Timely, intelligent, and worth watching.

TODAY'S HEALING INSIGHT: THE SCARS WE CARRY

One of the most painful parts of healing is realising that some people who hurt us may never fully understand the impact of their actions.

They may expect everything to return to normal, while the wounds, confusion, and grief remain with those left behind.

Healing is not about pretending the scars do not exist. It is about acknowledging the truth, grieving what was lost, and slowly reclaiming your peace, dignity, and sense of self.

Forgiveness may be part of the journey, but genuine healing also requires honesty. What happened matters. The scars are real.

God does not ask us to deny our wounds. He invites us to bring them into the light, where grace, truth, and love can begin the work of restoration.

A worthwhile reflection for anyone recovering from toxic relationships, emotional abuse, or complex trauma.
