You might want to check this Instagram setting today.
Meta’s new Muse Image feature reportedly allows people to use public Instagram photos to generate AI images through Meta AI. And for some accounts, the setting appears to be switched on by default.
So, if your Instagram profile is public, your posts, reels and photos could potentially be used in AI image generation unless you manually opt out.
Here’s where to check:
Go to your Instagram profile
Tap the three lines in the top right corner
Scroll to Sharing and reuse
Find Allow people to use your content on Instagram and with AI features on Meta
Turn off the toggles for both Posts and Reels
Making your account private may also help limit this, but anything already generated using your content may still exist.
If you are a founder, creator, business owner or personal brand, this matters. Your content is part of your digital identity, and you deserve to know how your images, likeness and social media content can be reused as AI tools become more embedded into platforms like Instagram and Meta.
Send this to someone who needs to check their settings before they post again.
