Tip #4 Audacity FREE Audio Editor

Hi friends, are you looking for a good FREE software to create voiceovers? I highly recommend Audacity. Why? Because its FREE and easy to use!

To get started using Audacity first download it for Window or Mac depending on your device from here: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

Once you have downloaded the software here are a few instructions to make things a bit easier. First view the software in full screen so that you can see all the functions and settings. Now let’s go over some of the basic features together:

Recording – first test out the recording by pressing on the record button and start the recording process. Press the stop button after about 3 seconds to stop the recording. Now you can see what has been recorded in the timeline and can play the recording back through your audio speakers.

Set-up defaults:

Recording device – this is your microphone high definition audio. Make sure the microphone settings are correct and the microphone is plugged into your laptop.
Recording channel – 1 channel mono is fine to use for equal volume on the left and right speakers.
Playback device – make sure this is set to the high definition audio speakers on your laptop.
Import files – just have to drag and drop files from your desktop into the Audacity software.
Export files – go to file then export as a WAV file because it tends to work better that MP4’s.

Editing your voiceover:

Selection Tool – selects on the time line what you want to edit.
Clip Boundaries – this is a important editing tool which cuts the timeline in half and can also be achieved by pressing cnt=i or navigating to the edit tab and then clip boundaries.
Time Shift Tool – this tool is used for editing. When you cut the timeline recording in half then you can edit it and then join it back together.

And that’s it! These are some basic tools required for simple voiceover editing and there are only a couple of functions that are then used over and over again. Voiceovers are perfect to make for videos in your university projects, YouTube channels, the list goes on…

Tip #3 FREE YouTube Ranking Strategy

TubeBuddy is such a great tool for YouTube because it can be used for so many important things such as keyword ranking, thumbnails and even languages.

To start ask yourself this question: what keywords do you want to rank for? The goal is to identify the phrase that will be easier to rank your video for in YouTube.

Type the keyword or title into the YouTube search bar this will be what you want to name your video. Look in the top right-hand corner of the screen to see the TubeBuddy chrome extension and pay attention to the Keyword Score in the Search Explorer to see what the Search Volume and Competition is for that corresponding keyword. When the Search Volume is red it means there is not enough people searching for it and when the competition is red it means there is too much competition for it. So ideally you want to be in the green for Search Volume and green or yellow for Competition, as well as have a high corresponding score.

A good keyword or title is comprised of high search volumes and low competition which means that the video will be easy to rank in YouTube for that corresponding keyword. When the video gains more interaction such as views, likes, comments, shares and subscribes over time it will rank higher naturally.

Another tip is to check out the top 5 or 10 competing videos for your keyword in YouTube. Use TubeBuddy to see how well they are optimized and what common keywords they have used.

Additionally, a trick is to copy/paste your keywords and title into the Google Chrome finder cnt+f to see if any other videos have your same keywords in them which means it will be harder to rank your video.

A lot of people don’t know using your videos ‘File Name’ will help your videos rank in YouTube. After making your YT video, on the actual MP4 that you’re going to upload onto YouTube. Right click the MP4 and go to properties, then click the details tab and fill in the following values:

- add your video title/keywords
- rate your video 5 stars
- add relevant keywords
- add your website URL to the website field

When optimizing your video to rank high in YouTube all you must do is repeat the same keywords again in your title, description and tags. Tags should be specific and relevant. Thumbnails should be eye catching and an exact match to the keywords or title. The video description should sound natural leading with the keywords or title first.

Tip #2 How To Get Started With Affiliate Marketing

I started with low ticket affiliate marketing on Amazon which I think gets you familiar with how affiliate links work. Amazon is great because when a customer purchases through your affiliate link you can get the commissions for all other items purchased through the referral. For example, if a customer wanted to buy a book originally and ended up buying a bed you can get the commission for the bed as well as any other additional purchase made through your affiliate link. Additionally, another great reason to choose Amazon is because it handles approximately 50% of all e-commerce. With low ticket affiliate marketing however you must make a lot of sales to make any money. This is why I recommend high ticket over low ticket affiliate marketing.

If you would like to get started with Amazon Associates Central which is FREE just create an account through this link: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com and sign up for the affiliate program. There are YouTube videos showing the sign-up process if you would like some guidance, but the process is straight forward.

Once you have created an account with Amazon next create a new Google account which will have an attached Gmail. This process is super simple and can be done very easily and most people are already familiar with it.

Next create a new YouTube channel for your specific niche/topic, example Health & Fitness. Navigate to youtube.com and click on your newly created Google account profile picture in the top right-hand corner of the home screen and then click my channel to create a new one.

Use a video creation software such as Camtasia to create videos and upload them to your YouTube channel. The Amazon affiliate link for the product you’re selling is located underneath your video in the description section.

That’s it! it’s as simple as that! Just be sure to make an affiliate disclosure next to any affiliate links as it is mandatory practice for Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations. There is plenty of information online to help write an affiliate disclosure.
