GTI supported Hurtigruten’s media event last week at award-winning fish restaurant Saint Peter, spotlighting the use of locally sourced ingredients through Hurtigruten’s Coastal Kitchen concept.

Hosted by Hurtigruten's Managing Director, Damian Perry, Australian cook and Everyday Gourmet host Justine Schofield shared her recent experiences travelling onboard Hurtigruten's Original and Svalbard Line. Media heard about Justine’s incredible culinary adventure, from foraging for seaweed or sampling reindeer hot dogs, and guests received a sneak peek at upcoming Everyday Gourmet episodes featuring Hurtigruten’s farm-to-table concept and Norwegian traditions.

Check out the Hurtigruten segments on Everyday Gourmet on Channel 10 or catch up on 10 Play.

Congratulations to the Hurtigruten team, including Marketing Director Marisa Jones, and the GTI team who brought this collaboration to life.

On Monday evening, we had the pleasure of supporting the event 'Sustainable Tourism Spotlight: In Conversation with Palau', in collaboration with Room Res, Travel Daily and our client, Palau Visitors Authority.

The feature of the event was a fireside chat with Laura Clarke, Co-Founder of the Palau Pledge and Hon. Consul General, Republic of Palau to Australia, and Onorina Fugawi, Tourism Manager at Pacific Trade Invest Australia, to hear their insights on how collaboration, education and conservation can shape a more responsible future for travel. Moderated by Associate Publisher for Travel Daily, Jo-Anne Hui-Miller, the conversation highlighted the realities and opportunities of sustainable tourism, the creation and impact of the Palau Pledge, and how destinations can balance tourism growth with environmental and cultural preservation.

As destinations around the world navigate challenges such as overtourism and environmental pressures, Palau continues to set a global benchmark through its innovative conservation initiatives and commitment to protecting its people, culture, and ecosystems.

On behalf of Palau Visitors Authority, thank you to Room Res, Travel Daily, and the incredible speakers who contributed to such a meaningful discussion.

Last month, we welcomed Travel Texas and partners Visit Austin, Visit Dallas, Fredericksburg Convention & Visitor Bureau and Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau on a 2026 Australian Sales Mission.

The team hit the road to connect with over 250 agents, wholesalers and partners in a multi-city trade program across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, complete with briefings, product training, and roadshow events.

Sydney stole the show with a collaboration we’ve had in the works for some time, Texas BBQ: Pitmasters, a four-day event series with Firedoor’s Lennox Hastie and Austin-based pitmaster Kareem “KG” El-Ghayesh. From long-table H***y Tonk feasts and live music at Sydney Brewery Rozelle, to a Brisket 101 Masterclass and intimate five-course finale at Firedoor, the weekend brought a taste of Texas to Sydneysiders.

Our event partner American Airlines promoted the direct flights to Dallas-Fort Worth from Sydney and Melbourne, plus seasonal Brisbane-Dallas services. Texas continues to be one of the most accessible US gateways for Aussie travellers – making it the perfect time for Australians to visit Texas.

Thank you to the hundreds of people that came to the Texas BBQ Pitmasters events. Let’s Texas!
