In 2022 we tragically lost one of our own - Laz Simons.

Laz was a true creative and a well-loved part of the Ogilvy PR family. Laz was introduced to the world of commercial creativity via an unconventional pathway, leaping from muso and rapper to copywriting creative. And his work was all the richer for this unique backstory.

In his memory, we created the Laz Simons Creative Career Cadetship, a paid immersive learning position in the Ogilvy Creative Team for a 12-week period.

Now in its second year, this opportunity is open to anyone with a unique backstory who wants a career in creative communications but hasn’t got a degree, hasn't undertaken an industry internship or has little or no experience.

Today we are announcing a number of promotions and several hires as we strengthen our corporate leadership structure, and announce that Jacquie Potter, currently our Group MD of Corporate, will be joining ALDI as a client as Director of Communications.

With Jacquie’s departure, Anthony Kelaher, who previously worked in Ogilvy’s corporate practice and returned to Ogilvy PR in 2021, has been promoted to Group MD of Corporate, while Brian Corrigan has been promoted to Editor-in-Chief, focussing on corporate and business content while also leading the Business Influence team.

Joining the Ogilvy PR corporate team is Frances Dwyer as Head of Corporate (most recently at Edelman), while Mitch Henderson starts as Senior Business Director joining from Meta and previously Teneo in London.

Meanwhile, investor relations and financial communications consultancy Cannings Strategic Communications (part of Ogilvy PR), welcomes back Luis M Garcia MAICD who returns as Senior Corporate Counsel after retiring from the Managing Director position in 2023.

Cannings has also promoted Amy Piek to Managing Partner who returns from parental leave, and also William Roberts who moves to Senior Business Director.
