MYTH BUSTER MONDAY!!!
Let's bust this common myth...
Does Charging Your Phone to 100% and Leaving It Plugged In Kill the Battery?
We’ve all heard the warning:
“Never leave your phone charging overnight — it will destroy the battery!” 😱
But is it actually true?
Modern smartphones are designed to manage charging automatically. Once the battery reaches 100%, the phone stops continuously charging and manages power to prevent traditional overcharging.
However, there’s a catch. 👀
Keeping a lithium-ion battery at 100% for extended periods, especially when the phone is exposed to heat, can contribute to faster battery degradation over time.
💡 HOW TO EXTEND YOUR BATTERY LIFE:
• Use Optimized/Adaptive Charging if your phone supports it
• Keep your phone cool while charging
• Avoid charging under pillows or in direct sunlight
• Don’t worry about unplugging your phone the second it hits 100%
• If convenient, keeping the battery roughly between 20% and 80% can reduce long-term battery stress
