Did you know Christian Dior's sister was a member of the French resistance in WWII? She was caught and endured horrific torture at the hands of the Gestapo but refused to give up any of her compatriots. Miraculously, she survived her imprisonment at Ravensbruk and chose a quiet life away from the glamorous and at times, frivolous world of haute couture. Instead she grew flowers in Provence and sold them in the Paris markets. Perhaps she found solace and peace in the beauty of the natural world. Adored by her older brother, she was his inspiration for his first fragrance, Miss Dior.
