PERTH by • a contemporary Prahran family home shaped by bold curves and seamless indoor–outdoor living on a compact inner-suburban site.

Curved geometry leads the design • from a sculptural staircase under a circular skylight to arched windows and sweeping glazing.

Two courtyards maximise northern light, with the main courtyard and pool connecting kitchen and living spaces, while a second courtyard frames quiet landscape views.

Carefully navigating flood overlays and complex construction, the home balances privacy with openness.

Charcoal battens and soft grey brick define the exterior, while warm timber joinery softens the light-filled interiors.

NULLAKI by • set on 42 hectares of conservation land in WA’s Great Southern, Nullaki is a modest off-grid retreat immersed in bush and inlet views.

Lifted lightly above the ground, the simple rectilinear form nods to nearby farm buildings while protecting the fragile landscape beneath.

Within just 150sqm, the home fits generous living, lofted bedrooms and outdoor spaces, all pivoting around a central double-sided fireplace • the heart of the house, like a campfire binding daily life together.

Lined in plywood with Jarrah floors and bronze-framed glazing, the interior feels warm and grounded, with subtle Japanese influence encouraging a slower, minimalist way of living.

Solar powered and rainwater harvesting, Nullaki is designed to tread lightly and endure for generations.

CLOUD STREET by • a large family home that sits quietly within its inner-suburban neighbourhood.

Designed to feel modest and recessive, it blends into the street while still engaging openly with it through an unfenced, landscaped front yard.

Inside, the house unfolds as a series of fluid spaces arranged around a north-facing courtyard, allowing family life to expand and contract over time.

Angled walls, sloped ceilings and carefully shaped rooms create a sense of movement and surprise without feeling overworked.

Built as “background architecture,” Cloud Street balances comfort, sustainability and community, with thoughtful shading, natural ventilation and a rammed earth spine grounding the home in both place and purpose.

Q HOUSE by • set on the foreshore of Jervis Bay, Q House is a coastal retreat designed for a young family to slow down, reconnect and live with the landscape.

The solid form offers protection from harsh coastal weather, while expansive glazing allows the home to open fully to the ocean when conditions soften.

Arranged across three subtly stepped levels, the house rises from street entry through private spaces to an open living and entertaining zone facing the bay.

This gradual shift echoes the experience of moving across sand dunes, culminating in wide, uninterrupted views.

A robust palette of Australian hardwood, copper, concrete masonry and matte black aluminium responds to the marine environment, creating a home that feels grounded, protective and deeply connected to its coastal setting.

NORTHCOTE HACIENDA by • a double-fronted Victorian in Northcote is reimagined as a three-level family home shaped around a generous central courtyard.

The original layout is partly retained, while a new concrete-block wing introduces a more fluid, contemporary way of living.

Inspired by Mediterranean homes and gardens, the extension moves away from rigid Victorian geometry.

Curved walls, arched openings and a sculptural stair create moments of surprise as the house unfolds, wrapping the garden and courtyard at its core.

Bold colour, varied stone selections and carefully placed openings give each space its own character, creating a home that feels both playful and quietly reflective.

COURTYARD HOUSE by • inspired by the Italian palazzo and the Australian courtyard home, this house is shaped around a strong indoor–outdoor connection.

Three landscaped zones • front yard, central courtyard and rear yard • organise the plan, with the courtyard forming the calm heart of the home.

Sheltered from neighbours yet open to tree canopies above, the courtyard connects closely to surrounding interiors, revealing itself from multiple viewpoints.

A restrained material palette reinforces this relationship: timber batten ceilings guide movement through the house, set against crisp white concrete floors.

Elongated brown brickwork grounds the home in its Templestowe context, echoing the horizontal rhythm of the built form.

A quiet, considered home where landscape and architecture move as one.

WILDWOOD BARN by • set in Wildwood Valley, where sweeping winds meet wide ocean views, this home is designed as a calm and sheltered retreat • a place to enjoy the landscape in every season.

Anchored by two intersecting concrete blades, the house balances weight and warmth with timber and steel.

Where the blades meet, a protected outdoor room is carved into the plan, drawing the verandah into daily life and extending its use year-round.

Carefully placed timber windows frame the valley without overpowering it, letting the landscape unfold quietly.

Details like exposed eaves and expressed rainwater collection turn weather into part of the experience.

Wildwood Barn is a thoughtful balance of shelter, restraint and connection to place • shaped through strong collaboration and a shared vision.

CASA FIGUEIRA by • Named after and shaped around • a century-old, heritage-protected fig tree, this home is designed in dialogue with its landscape.

A complex brief met through close collaboration, resulting in a truly bespoke family residence that balances calm, strength and longevity.

Behind a rammed earth spine, the home opens into an airy living space wrapped around a central courtyard.

Off-form concrete ceilings and full-height glazing draw light, views and life inward, framing the cultivated garden beyond.

Refined American walnut joinery and bronze details quietly conceal services, allowing the architecture to read clean and uninterrupted.

Built to weather with time, Casa Figueira is designed to patina gently • a resilient, grounded retreat from the city outside.
