Can people tell where you're based when they visit your Facebook profile? 📍

It sounds like a small detail, but if you offer an in-person therapy or service, your location is an important part of your Facebook presence.

Imagine someone sees one of your helpful comments in a Facebook Group, notices you've been recommended by someone, or comes across one of your posts.

They click through to find out more.

Can they immediately see where you're based?

If you're an acupuncturist, reflexologist, massage therapist, counsellor, osteopath or other practitioner offering face-to-face appointments, location can be one of the first things a potential client needs to know.

If they have to hunt around your profile to find it, or visit your website just to discover you're 200 miles away - you've created an unnecessary barrier.

Facebook allows you to add basic information about your business to your Page, including location/address information depending on your Page category.

So here's a very simple marketing check for today:

👉 Visit your page as a potential client would see it.

Can you quickly tell:

✦ What you do?
✦ Who you help?
✦ Where you're based?
✦ How to find out more or book?

If not, update your Page information and make your location clear.

And if you work both locally and online, say that too:

“In-person in Bristol + online across the UK.”

👉Your page is part of your digital business card. Make it easy for the right person to look at it and think:

“Yes, this practitioner is for me, and they're near me.”

Why do you post on social media?

Is it to share quiet wisdom, find clients, build community, or simply because you feel you "should"?

I’d love to know - what’s the real reason behind your feed?

Meta One Update ⬅

Following on from my Facebook update last week, there’s one point worth emphasising about Meta One.

Although Meta (Facebook) is introducing more paid business features — including organic post and Reel links, enhanced profiles, scheduling and analytics — there is currently no confirmed evidence that paying for Meta One will improve your organic reach or ranking.

So for therapists and holistic practitioners, I wouldn’t see it as something you need in order to be visible.

If you do decide to test paid features, treat them as a marketing expense that needs to earn its place: look at whether they actually lead to more profile visits, website clicks, sign-ups or enquiries.

👉The bigger lesson remains the same: Facebook is changing, but good marketing still comes back to creating useful content, starting conversations and making it easy for the right people to take the next step.

I’ve been a little quieter on Facebook recently, mainly because I’ve been making the most of the beautiful summer mornings and enjoying some sunrise swims - which is usually the time I sit down to write my social media posts.

👉🏻 But I’ll be getting back to sharing regular updates again, including ‘What’s Changing on Facebook’ a weekly look at the changes that may affect therapists and holistic practitioners.

One thing I see more and more in comments and groups is frustration from therapists who feel their posts simply aren’t being seen.

And this latest update probably won’t make that frustration disappear.

Meta has introduced Meta One (15th Sept) and one of the paid business features includes the ability to add links to organic posts and Reels.

That doesn’t mean every free page is suddenly losing the ability to share links, but it does suggest a clear direction: Meta is placing more control around how external links are used.

The important thing is to keep up with these changes so you can adapt your approach and work with how Facebook is evolving, rather than continuing to use strategies that may no longer be as effective.

For therapists and holistic practitioners, that increasingly means using Facebook to start conversations, build trust and share useful content — rather than relying on every post to send people straight to your website.

💫 I’ll keep sharing the changes that are actually worth knowing about, along with what they may mean for your marketing.

Have you noticed how much of the wellness space online is starting to look exactly the same❓

Lately, our feeds are flooded with a very specific type of marketing image. You know the ones: hyper-polished, AI-generated graphics featuring pristine, simulated treatment rooms, predictable mix of glowing purple galaxies, floating lotus flowers and perfectly stacked crystals.

It’s completely understandable why this is happening. The tools are free, fast and incredibly convenient when you’re busy running a practice and need a flyer or a post layout in five minutes.

⚠️ But there’s a quiet trap here for holistic businesses.

You chose this work because you wanted to step away from the mainstream. Your practice is built on nuance, deep listening, and the messy, beautiful reality of human healing. You offer a grounded antidote to a sterile, automated world.

So when your marketing relies on a computer algorithm's generic blueprint of "wellness," it misses the mark entirely. It feels disconnected from the actual work you do.

AI is brilliant behind the scenes for productivity, brainstorming, and structuring your ideas. But an algorithm doesn't have a SOUL.

It can generate millions of flawless layouts relentlessly, but it doesn't know WHY your specific work matters.

It doesn't know WHAT genuine emotional resonance feels like, and it cannot replicate your taste, your intentionality, or your presence.

As the web fills with this auto-generated noise, audiences are developing a heightened appreciation for the real thing. Potential clients aren’t looking for a perfect, simulated digital rendering; they are looking for a real human being they can trust. They want to see the authentic texture of your space, the warmth in your actual eyes, and the specific, intentional details that show your unique approach to healing.

By all means, let AI save you time behind the scenes. But don't let it dilute your identity just because it’s free. Your true essence is the one thing a machine can never replicate.

Here is my video from my sunrise swim yesterday. It’s not an algorithm’s glossy calculation of a sunrise, it’s a real, raw moment on a real morning.

👉🏻 And that is exactly how I approach my work.
When I build websites, and craft brand strategies, I don’t use generic templates or auto-generated shortcuts. I dive deep into the unique architecture of your specific work, focusing on natural, human implementation that respects your craft, honors your integrity and your approach. ✨ Because to help people heal, you first have to show up as yourself.

Keep your marketing human. That's how you cut through the noise and attract real clients.

Ever wondered why a link in a Facebook post suddenly isn't clickable?

I’ve mentioned Facebook's link quirks before, but with recent algorithm updates, here is the latest info on why this is happening, and how to handle it.

Facebook’s main goal is to keep users on its platform. Because of this, the algorithm restricts external links in a few key ways:

🌟 In regular posts: Unverified accounts and Professional Mode profiles face strict limits on external links, and including them in your caption can heavily reduce your reach.

🌟 In captions & Reels: Facebook frequently disables hyperlinks in video captions, cover photo descriptions, or story text, turning them into plain, unclickable text.

🌟 In comments: Adding a hyperlink directly inside post captions or video descriptions may not work and be physically unclickable. (Dropping a plain URL as the Page Owner in the comments remains the safest option).

🌟 In Stories: Links shared via the Facebook Story link sticker remain fully clickable and unlimited.

A simple workaround:
💫 Instead of placing an external website link directly inside your main caption, write your post text first and pop the link in the very first comment. That way, you share your content without the algorithm throttling your reach.

I hope this takes some of the frustration out of posting on Facebook. Small tweaks like this can make a big difference to your reach and we all need that! 😛

So many therapists come to their specific field because it fixed a broken piece of their own puzzle first. Was there a specific moment or personal challenge that made you realise, 'Yes, this is the work I'm meant to do'?

If you could sum up the biggest change your clients experience after working with you, what would it be?

Let’s celebrate those wins today and share your therapy in the comments.
