Search engines are picky. They don’t want vague, half-baked content, they want expertise, authority, and trust. That’s why optimising your Google My Business profile, creating natural-language FAQs, and using schema markup aren’t just “nice extras.” They’re the signals that prove you know your stuff.

Think of it like this: Google doesn’t want to serve up “some guy who might know a bit about it.” It wants the digital equivalent of a confident expert who answers clearly, consistently, and looks trustworthy while doing it.

The good news? You don’t need to be the biggest player in your industry to pull this off. Consistency, clarity, and smart optimisation will put you ahead of competitors still fumbling around with outdated sites and no schema in sight.

So if you want to win more clicks, more customers, and more trust, be the expert Google wants you to be.

Schema markup is one of those things that sounds like it should come with a Star Wars opening crawl. But it’s actually pretty simple: it’s code that tells Google what your content is. Is it a product? A review? An event? A recipe? Schema makes sure the search engine knows.

Why does it matter? Because schema unlocks rich snippets, those juicy extras you see in search results like stars, prices, dates, FAQs, and more. It makes your listing stand out in the sea of “just another blue link.”

Here’s the kicker: you don’t need to be a developer to use schema (though they do love it). There are tools, plugins, and templates that make it almost plug-and-play.

If you’re ignoring schema, you’re basically showing up to a networking event without a name tag. Don’t be that person.

Think of FAQs as free SEO power-ups. People type questions exactly how they’d ask a mate: “What’s the best pizza place near me?” or “How do I stop my ads from wasting money?” When your website has those questions (and decent answers), you become the chosen one in search results.

FAQs also build trust. They show you understand your customer’s pain points and can solve them without jargon. Pro tip: write them in the language your customer actually uses, not the way your lawyer cousin would write them.

Bottom line? FAQs help you rank, help you sell, and help you train the AI overlords to love your brand.

Think of Google My Business like your shopfront window. Would you leave old stock on display, lights flickering, and your phone number scratched off the sign? Didn’t think so.

But so many businesses treat their GMB profile exactly that way, half-done, never updated, and then they wonder why customers can’t find them.

Optimising your profile means current hours, fresh photos, customer reviews, and posts that show you’re alive and kicking. Google rewards activity. Customers reward accuracy.

So if you’re still rocking a blurry photo from 2017 and “Call us today!” as your only update, you’re practically begging to be ignored.

Waiting for AI to take my job, but it keeps asking me to approve the draft. Turns out, the robots still need a second pair of eyes, a human brain, and a sense check before launching a six-figure ad campaign.

At PayPerClick, we work with AI to deliver smarter results, not blindly trust it to run the show.

Strategy is still human. For now.

The June and July 2025 Google algorithm updates were rolled out. Content quality, authority and user experience are no longer optional—they’re the foundation.

AI summaries are taking over search results. Local rankings are reshuffling. Click-through rates are falling.

If your content isn’t built on Experience, Expertise, Authority and Trust, it’s getting buried.

To survive, your site needs:
➡️ Real citations
➡️ Conversational and clear writing
➡️ Author bios
➡️ Content that solves real problems
➡️ Fast, mobile-first pages

SEO is no longer just about ranking. It’s about earning your place in the AI-driven search results.

We Are Digital Humans. Not Replaced Yet.

AI is doing the heavy lifting, but it still needs strategy, direction and a little human attitude. At PayPerClick, we work with the machines, not for them.

If your Google Ads campaigns don’t have the right Primary Goal set, the algorithm could be wasting your budget.

Performance Max especially relies on that goal, whether it’s leads, sales or visits, to decide what to prioritise.

Run this quick audit:
1. Is your Primary Goal a true conversion, like a sale or form submission
2. Are your tracking settings pulling real data
3. Are you measuring what matters
4. Set the right goal and watch performance shift.

Every website should have a goal matrix - where you keep a log of all of the key actions a visitor can make on the site. Each action should be setup as an event in GA4 and only the highly valued events should be set as key events and then imported into Google Ads.
