Turn the sales tap ‘ON’ and keep it running…

Is your business facing the challenge of inconsistent gigs and an unpredictable workload?

It’s crucial to establish a robust sales operation that consistently drives new business, nurtures potential clients, and closes deals efficiently.

Key Components of a Successful Sales Operation:

Lead Generation: The cornerstone of consistent sales. Without a steady influx of new leads, your sales pipeline will dry up, making growth impossible.

Sales Outreach: Immediate and strategic contact with leads is essential. Engaging prospects at the right moments increases the chances of conversion and keeps your sales cycle moving.

Nurturing: Not all leads are ready to buy immediately. Effective nurturing processes ensure that you’re cultivating relationships and guiding leads through their buying journey, turning potential clients into loyal customers.

Why It Matters:

Without Nurturing: You might close quick sales but miss out on future opportunities that need more time and effort. Nurturing is most effective when combined with sales outreach at strategic times.

Without Lead Generation: Your sales funnel will lack fresh prospects, making it difficult to sustain growth.

Without Sales Outreach: Having no sales outreach is equivalent to ordering a steak in a restaurant and watching it go cold! Remember: leads lose interest quickly so timely and consistent communication is key to maintaining momentum.

A balanced and integrated approach to lead generation, sales outreach, and nurturing is vital.

Each component supports the others, ensuring a seamless, efficient sales process that maximises your potential for growth and profitability.

Trades Business Owners: Stop chasing your tail and start to scale by systemising your processes.

Reduce the stress and focus on business growth by building up your in-house operating systems.

Having systems in-place is the critical component that allows small business owners to enhance efficiency, build consistency, train effectively, grow their team and scale.

5 quick steps to set up your systems:

1- Document Core Processes: Identify your core processes like estimating, project management, invoicing etc. and write down the steps you currently take to perform each process.

2- Increase Efficiencies: Analyse current methods to spot bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

3- Reduce Your Workload: Automate and streamline using software like HubSpot, Xero, Trello or our all-in-one software; the Yakka “All-in-one” CRM.

4- Standardise Procedures: Create clear, detailed SOPs with guidelines, checklists, and templates.

5- Train + Delegate: Ensure your team is familiar with the new systems and delegate further to free up more time and focus on growth.

Looking to improve your sales process?

Try modelling your sales approach off a good experience with the local GP:

• Uses an organised process
• Brand professionalism
• Leads with integrity and trust
• Lets you feel heard
• Asks the right questions to find out your unique problem
• Provides a tailored solution

Sales is more of a science than an art.

Build a sales process that puts the customers' needs first and instills trust and use this same approach with every new lead, just like the GPs.

Step out of the daily grind: How a CRM can help

Running a trades business can feel like you’re constantly juggling roles and never quite able to find the time to step back and focus on growth.

It’s bloody tough when you’re on the tools yourself and also steering the business. It can be very challenging to implement the necessary systems, delegate effectively, find the cash flow to hire new help, and trust them to do the job diligently. The fear of letting go and trusting others with your business can be paralysing, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

A CRM is software that can automate your workflows, giving you back precious hours in your day. In addition to increased organisation, task management and transparency, it also streamlines your lead generation and sales process, boosting your cash flow and enabling you to invest in your team.

Breaking free from the daily grind won’t happen by luck, you’ll need to focus on what truly matters – growing your business.

Our Starter Package, complete with a website, CRM, and a step-by-step Digital Marketing Roadmap Guide for 2024, is here to help you get started.

The end result?

Which website builder should tradies use for their new business?

Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress or get a custom coded one built?

Shopify: A clear NO for tradies. Shopify excels for e-commerce related businesses (people selling products online) and not local services.

Wix and Squarespace: To give credit where credit’s due, Wix and Squarespace have come on leaps and bounds over the last 5 years. Primarily addressing the SEO drawbacks that their platforms used to have in abundance. The major benefit of these platforms is their ease of use, they are very beginner friendly.

However, with Wix and Squarespace you are restricted by their platforms and do not retain complete autonomy which can result in SEO limitations and bulkier code (slower sites).

A custom coded website: Very expensive to build and total overkill for most trade businesses.

If you wanted your website to do perform more functions than just your sales and marketing i.e. creating a social media-like community, then you could think about commissioning a custom coded website, but even then there would be cheaper, alternative options to look at. Beware of any agency or web developer trying to sell you on a $20k+ custom website.

Wordpress: Low upfront cost with huge flexibility to scale your website as your business grows. It has a steeper learning curve than Wix and Squarespace but you retain complete SEO control.

While it’s possible to build your Wordpress website with custom code, there are thousands of free and paid plugins that help to make Wordpress beginner-friendly.

Easy-to-use ‘page builder’ plugins such as Elementor and Divi make building a website on Wordpress as simple as Wix and Squarespace, without feeling the limitations of their platforms.

Owning your own website also gives you the financial freedom to shop around for a cheaper deal if your hosting provider starts to get inflate their prices.

Heads Up: Wordpress is open source which gives it such great flexibility, however this can create security vulnerabilities, so best practices are highly recommended i.e. only use trusted plugins and keep them updated frequently.

The Winner: Wordpress.
Tied 2nd: Wix and Squarespace
Beware: People trying to sell you a custom-coded website.

G'day! We're a team of zero BS, results-driven marketers on a mission to help Tradies across Aus and NZ expand their business through reliable sales and marketing strategies.

Unlike most marketers, we also have a strong background in sales. This means that our expertise lies not just in making your phone ring, but also ensuring that those new leads are turning into sales.

Too often, marketing agencies shy away from their responsibilities and don't want to be held accountable for lead quality or lead conversion rate (the % of leads that are becoming sales). We see lead generation as only one-part of our greater purpose which is to ensure more cash starts hitting your bank account.

The services we provide range from '100% done-for-you' services designed for scale, to lower-priced 'hybrid' solutions to help you get off the ground i.e. The Yakka Launchpad program.

The Yakka Launchpad is an affordable program for new tradie businesses or tradies on a budget that are trying to build up their online presence and generate reliable revenue. This program provides all the tools, strategies and support you need to grow- without breaking the bank.
