Remember back in 2018 when Musk announced that Tesla had gone bankrupt… and would be switching to a ‘mass sale of Easter eggs’ as a ‘last ditch effort’ to save the company? April Fools! Turns out the joke was on him though, when his announcement was followed by a steep 7% drop in Tesla stocks. Ouch.

Unfortunately, when an April Fools’ Day prank goes wrong for a brand, it goes very wrong.
