Maybe confidence isn’t the goal anymore.

Maybe it’s just getting to the point where you stop editing yourself for everyone else.

I see this a lot with women, particularly when they’re in a period of change.

They’re not necessarily lacking confidence. They’ve just spent years dressing, behaving and making choices around what feels acceptable.

And at some point, you think: actually, I quite like myself like this…

That’s when style gets interesting.

Not dressing to look on trend.
Not dressing to fit in.
Not dressing for approval.

Just dressing like you’ve finally stopped asking permission.

That’s a very different kind of self confidence 🫶🏻

I don’t know how many meals I’ve cooked over the years, or how many pans I’ve burnt. 😂 actually… there was one time the fire brigade had to kick down the front door. But that’s a story for another day 🔥 anyhow, you know what I’m trying to say.

I’ve cooked A LOT so when I found Our Place and realised their pans actually stand the test of time, of course I had to share.

And right now they’re 40% off, so if you’ve been thinking about upgrading your cookware, this might be the time! Apprently, even I can be trusted with a good pan 😉

A brown suede boot is one of those pieces that can completely change the feel of an outfit. It’s softer than black, adds warmth and texture, and works with so many colours.

Five styling tricks to remember;

1. Repeat the colour
If your boots are brown, look for little touches of brown elsewhere in a print, belt, bag or knit. They don’t need to match perfectly. That little repetition helps connect the outfit.

2. Use brown to ground softer pieces
Crochet, lace and floaty dresses can sometimes feel a little too delicate. Brown boots add just enough weight to balance them without feeling as heavy as black.

3. Use brown to soften black
If you wear a lot of black, try adding one warm element rather than adding more colour. Brown suede brings warmth and texture while still keeping the outfit modern.

4. Don’t underestimate a small heel
A low heel can take a simple jeans-and-coat outfit from casual to smart-casual without making it feel like you’ve tried too hard.

5. Think about the whole silhouette
If an oversized knit or top feels a little heavy on top, wearing a pair of boots can help balance that proportion.

And this is really why I love styling, sometimes adding one piece can completely reinterpret what you already own.

If you are in the market, I’ve linked the pieces from this reel in my ShopMy collection via the link in bio. 🤎

People often ask me how to become more confident with their style.

I don’t think confidence starts with clothes.

I think it starts with recognition.

That quiet moment when you look in the mirror and think,

“That’s me.”

After 25 years, that’s still my favourite part of what I do.

Because style isn’t about becoming someone else.

It’s about coming home to yourself.

So many of us save our favourite clothes.

For holidays.

For dinners.

For special occasions.

But after 25 years, I’ve realised that most of life happens on ordinary Tuesdays.

Wear the jacket.

Carry the good bag.

Enjoy the colour.

Your everyday life is worth showing up for.
