Preventing falls is an area often overlooked and underfunded by government and communities. Education, awareness, frameworks and strategies are urgently needed to ensure that senior citizens feel physically and psychologically safe. For our client, it was our job to translate data into a digestible infographic, while communicating it as a topic that requires more commitment from government and communities. Earlier this year, we attended the international social marketing conference, hosted by the Australian Association of Social Marketing (AASM). where we heard from practical and academic experts in the social marketing field, and even presented some of our own work. One campaign that stood out to us was from Sustainability Victoria, presenting on their work around reducing food waste. Their work in this area brought the issue to our attention, with many members of the team changing some of their habits as a result.

Among the plethora of waste that we humans produce, food is one of the worst culprits. So much so that, if food waste was a country, it would be the third biggest emitter of greenhouse gasses after USA and China.
