If this worked in Sweden, it might also work here in Australia. But the problem is, it might attract crows to stay and nestle in cities and crowded areas where cigarette butts are present rather than scavenging other animal corpses along the highway.

THE LITTLE PINGUINS IN TASMANIA

The little penguin is the world's smallest penguin and a popular sight in Tasmania, which hosts a majority of the Australian population. You can see them return to their burrows at dusk from the ocean at several designated viewing areas around the island. Responsible viewing through tours or official observation points is recommended to avoid disturbing them.

Where To See Penguins in Tasmania?

North West Coast

Burnie, Tasmania : The Little Penguin Observation Centre at Parsonage Point offers free, guided tours with volunteers during the breeding season from October to March. You can see the penguins return to their nests from a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk.

Beach, Devonport: Located ten minutes west of Devonport, this coastal reserve has a viewing platform where volunteers are available during the breeding season (September–May) and summer months (December–February). Viewing is free, but donations are welcomed.

: This town, named after the seabirds, offers opportunities to see penguins along the shoreline in the evenings. You should be cautious not to disturb the birds.

(Godfrey's Beach): A viewing platform here provides an accessible way to watch the penguins return to their nests after dark. A volunteer-posted sign on the fence often indicates the expected return time.
