Oh Tilly helps brands to create the photography of their dreams & connect with their ideal clients.

I create high quality styled stock photography for Fempreneurs and Women In Business. After 13 years as a wedding and family photographer I realised that I wanted to spend more of my weekends with my family (instead of everyone else's), so that's how Oh Tilly Styled Stock Photography came to be. Now I get to work my own hours and spend more time with my gorgeous hubby and two beautiful kids. My real passion is seeing women in business succeed in achieving financial freedom through their businesses. I aim to give them more of their time back by ensuring they always have great photos for every social media post, blog post or branding project. Obsessed with coffee, vintage Levis, white sneakers and any kind of chocolate.

At today's shoot, I had an epiphany.

One of the team I was shooting really didn't want to smile. So I told her how smiling lifts the face and makes you look younger (something I have become intimately aware of since turning 40).

So I set out with my trusty pal Claude, to find some research on the subject. Turns out there's a tonne of it.

Smiling makes you look younger *science b***h*

Whether you want to or not, flash a grin in your next photos and see the difference.

Fuller cheeks, smoother jawline and an overall lifted look.

I hear this all the time

I don't need an online presence, my business runs on referrals

This might have worked for a very long time, but trust me when I say that businesses relying on referrals alone are leaving money - and growth - on the table

If things feel like they're starting to go quiet, referrals aren't getting you quite where you want to be then it might be time for an online presence

When the market gets scary, a lot of businesses go quiet

They cut the photos
Cut the marketing
Cut the visibility
Then hope people still remember them when they are ready to buy

Bit optimistic, honestly

Clients do not disappear completely when budgets tighten. They just become more careful

They compare more
They look for proof
They choose the business that feels safer, clearer and more current

So if your competitors are pulling back, staying visible is not showing off. It is strategy

Good brand photography gives your marketing something strong to work with across your website, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, ads, email and proposals

Because when the pie gets smaller, you do not want to leave the table. Hang around a snag a bigger slice

The 'I’ll book when I’m ready' trap is very real.

It’s a bit like leaving a bill on the bench/fridge because future you will surely be more organised, more emotionally stable and more in the mood to deal with it.

Then suddenly it’s a day overdue and you’re paying that bill in a panic.

Brand photos are the same. An overdue bill is the same as 'the website needs photos, the launch is next week, LinkedIn is embarassing', and you’re wondering why you didn’t sort it earlier.

Most people don’t wait until they’re ready. They wait until it becomes urgent.

The problem is, rushed visuals rarely give you the best strategy, the best outfits, the best locations or the best version of your brand.
