For more than a decade, we’ve had the privilege of delivering media training to participants in the Theatre iNQ Bridge Program, helping emerging performers build confidence and communication skills for interviews and media opportunities.

Last month, Heidi worked with the current group of talented “Bridgees,” providing practical one-on-one interview coaching and media training. Along the way, she also got an exciting preview of The House of Bernarda Alba, and what a production it promises to be.

When Heidi started Crystal Clear PR in Townsville in 2009, she could see that this region was full of extraordinary organisations, businesses and people doing remarkable things, but not always telling their story well. The more she scratched the surface of our city, the more gems she discovered.

Since then, the work has evolved, the model has changed, the region has grown, and so has Crystal Clear. Along the way, we have worked on dozens of major events, navigated media crises, tackled stakeholder challenges, coached founders and emerging leaders, pivoted through a global pandemic and spent two years with Heidi leading the Townsville Chamber of Commerce. All while sharing hundreds of great stories and shining a light on the businesses and people that make North Queensland what it is.

Over almost two decades, it has been a privilege to work alongside more than 200 organisations across government, industry and community. Every chapter has shaped the way we work, and every collaboration has deepened our understanding of what it really takes to get things done in this region.

We have updated the Crystal Clear website to better reflect our story so far, where things are going and how we help North Queensland grow.

Theatre iNQ is a phenomenon. What the team have created is noticed within the industry nationally. To quote a WAPA lecturer “there’s really something in the water in a townsville” yes there is a big dose of TheatreiNQ!

The growth of the company over the past decade has been impressive and the shows would be at home on a national stage.

The investment the company have made into young NQ acting and production talents is priceless. Some stay and some go but they often return to add to the richness of the productions performed here.

The Bridge program has hosted around 100 young talents over the decade. 🤯 And to see them progress from babies / high school students to perform in a range of roles in national theatre productions, advertising, well known TV shows and win national awards is just amazing. With Terri’s mentorship some have even started their own theatre company in Sydney.

Conducting media training with these talented and dedicated young people and seeing them grow in confidence and professionalism each year is really rewarding. Hearing the amazing examples of why they love TheatreiNQ makes me so proud of the team.

Thanks TheatreiNQ for having us. Has it really been 10 years already!!

Heidi has been a Certified Practicing Marketer (1 of only 79 in Queensland) for many years, but she was recognised as a marketing leader earlier this year and invited to be a mentor by the Australian Marketing Institute, and subsequently invited to join the judging panel for the the 2022 Australian Marketing Institute Marketing Excellence Awards.

The winners have been announced and there were some outstanding campaigns across a range of categories displaying a depth of strategic knowledge combined with innovation and creativity.
