As Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts turns 40, they’re inviting members, artists and the broader community to share what they value most, what should be retained, and what they hope Umbrella continues to become.

Vetta Creative is proud to be working in creative partnership with Umbrella as they look towards their next chapter, and we encourage anyone who has been part of Umbrella’s story, or cares about the future of the arts in North Queensland, to take a few minutes to complete the survey.

We’re proud to be working in creative partnership with Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts as they approach 40 years and look towards their next chapter.

Umbrella has played an important role in Townsville’s creative ecosystem for decades, supporting artists, creating opportunities and helping shape the region’s cultural landscape.

For Vetta, this partnership feels especially meaningful. Many of the artists, creatives and founding members connected to Umbrella were also lecturers, mentors and creative influences for our Directors and team through Creative Industries studies at JCU: James Cook University, Australia.

They helped shape how we think, create and contribute to this region’s creative community. To now have the opportunity to work alongside Umbrella, and help facilitate conversations about its past, present and future, is a real privilege.

Members, artists and the broader community are invited to take part in two ways:

1. Register your EOI in the Umbrella 40th Workshop | 1–4pm, Saturday 27 June
Share stories, ideas and perspectives about what should be protected, what could evolve, and what Umbrella’s next chapter might become.

Not loud.

Just honest storytelling with something real to say.

Humans in Health was created to hold people at the centre. Their stories, their truth, their pride, and the lived experiences that deserve to be heard.

Through a series of first-person stories and portraits, the campaign invites reflection, deeper understanding and a more human way forward.

We’re incredibly proud to have helped bring this work to life with Townsville Hospital and Health Service, and grateful to every participant who trusted the process and shared their story with such generosity.

Introducing our JCU: James Cook University, Australia - Townsville Chamber of Commerce 2026 Mentors! 👏

Each year, the Career Mentor Program continues to grow - driven by the meaningful connections formed between mentors and mentees along the way.

This program supports JCU students in building valuable skills and exploring career pathways by connecting them with experienced industry professionals. It’s a shared learning experience, where students gain insight and guidance, and mentors have the opportunity to strengthen their leadership and coaching skills while supporting the next generation at the very start of their careers.

Someone recently said to our Co-Founders Sarah and Kassia:
“It’s so great to see that someone in design made it, because early in my career, I was told it’s unlikely that designers ‘make it’.”

It hit a nerve, because they’d heard that same message in their early years too.

Vetta started in 2012 with two Townsville graphic designers and a better way of doing things. Fourteen years on, it’s a regional full-service agency with a team of seriously talented people producing work that stands tall next to big metro agencies.

No secret formula. Just years of backing the craft, backing the work, and backing each other.

To anyone creating something from regional Australia, keep going. 💪

International Women’s Day gave us a good reason to get out of the office.

On Friday, the Vetta women attended the Townsville Business Women's Circle IWD Lunch, hearing from inspiring Australian Olympian Anna Meares .

She spoke about the part of high performance most people never see.
The quiet, behind-the-scenes work.

Choosing a strategy. Practising it daily. No applause. No guarantee. Just repetition and refinement until the work gets stronger.

That’s how we build at Vetta too. We test, learn, refine and repeat, backed by each other the whole way.

IWD reminds us to celebrate the wins, but also the work it takes to get there.

Vetta Creative has officially been added to the QLD GOV Creative Advertising Supplier Panel.

Being the only full-service creative agency based in North Queensland, this is a meaningful milestone for our team. It’s a powerful validation that world-class strategy and creative ex*****on thrive everywhere in our state, not just in the capital.

Some places are part of the fabric of a city. The Great Barrier Reef Aquarium is one of them.

When a beloved venue closes to the public for a long period, the brand challenge shifts fast. Visibility drops, questions rise, and misinformation can fill the gaps if communication is inconsistent.

With the Aquarium in the middle of a major redevelopment, our role has been to keep the brand present and trusted throughout the journey. We’ve been working alongside the Aquarium team to shape a social approach that holds attention, answers the right questions, and keeps the community connected.

From strategy and planning, to photography and video that brings reef wonder and behind the scenes progress into the feed, to FAQs and myth-busting that cut through confusion.

Proud of what’s been created so far, and keen for what’s next as the journey continues towards 2029. 💪
