Tradies. Farmers. Mechanics. Operators. Drivers. Builders.

Blue-collar workers are some of the toughest people you’ll ever meet.

They’re also some of the least likely to put their hand up and say they’re struggling.

As Aussies we’re good at talking about the job, the weather, the footy, the next project, and what broke this week. We’re not always so good at talking about what’s going on between our ears.

That’s part of why organisations like TIACS are so important.

They provide free, professional mental health support to tradies, farmers and blue-collar workers, helping people get the support they need before things reach breaking point.

This upcoming event is about starting conversations, breaking down stigma, and reminding people that asking for help isn’t weakness — it’s strength.

If you’ve got a mate who’s always the first one to lend a hand but never asks for one, invite them along.

If you’ve been meaning to check in on someone, send the message.
And if you’re carrying more than you’re letting on, know that you’re not alone.

We’ve been keeping a secret.

Well… we’re still keeping one.

A lot of you have been asking where Budget Colour Copies has disappeared to. The new location is coming, I promise. I’m just still unpacking boxes, finding things I definitely put somewhere sensible, and trying to turn organised chaos back into a functioning business.

But not all secrets should stay secret.

Too many people carry their struggles in silence. Too many conversations never happen because someone believes they need to face it alone. The reality is that speaking up can change lives, and creating space for honest conversations can make all the difference.

That’s why I’m proud to support this event, bringing our community together to shine a light on men’s mental health, hear real stories, break down stigma, and raise vital funds for TIACS and the incredible work they do.

Most importantly, this event is raising funds for TIACS, providing free, professional counselling services for tradies, farmers and blue-collar workers — the people who often need it most but are the least likely to reach out.

Whether you’ve faced challenges yourself, supported someone who has, or simply want to be part of a conversation that matters, this is an opportunity to make a real impact. The more we normalise talking about mental health, the easier it becomes for someone to reach out when they need support most.

If you’re able to come along, I’d strongly encourage you to do so. Bring your mates, your partner, your work crew, or just yourself. Every person in the room helps build a stronger, more supportive community.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to temporarily close Budget Colour Copies for the next week while I complete the move into our new home.

The past few weeks have been hectic, and trying to run the print shop while packing, relocating equipment and moving stock isn’t sustainable.

Rather than provide a slower service than you deserve, I’m taking a one-week pause to get everything moved and set up properly.

Any jobs already in progress or promised for collection during this period will still be completed as arranged. If we’ve already discussed your order, nothing changes.

I’ll still be monitoring emails, messages and phone calls, although responses may be delayed and new jobs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

I apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience. This move has come together quickly, and I’d rather take a short pause than deliver a service below the standard my customers expect.

The good news is that we’ll reopen in a bigger space with more room to grow and better serve our customers.

Thank you for your patience, support and understanding. I’ll keep everyone updated as the move progresses.

Well… today’s the day.

Budget Colour Copies will be closed today while I begin the monumental task of packing up an entire print shop and relocating it somewhere new.

I’ll still be contactable via phone, email and Facebook, but replies may be slower than usual while I’m buried under boxes, paper stock, mystery cables and equipment that apparently weighs roughly the same as a small moon.

Apologies for the late notice and any inconvenience. This move has come together pretty quickly, and as exciting as it is, there’s still a lot to do before the doors reopen in our new home.

Thank you for your patience while I attempt this questionable life choice. I’ll keep everyone updated as things progress.

Just a heads up — I’m out of the office today and replies may be a bit slower than usual while I tackle appointments and a few unexpected life-admin curveballs.

If you send me a message, email or carrier pigeon, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience while I wrangle the chaos.

Out of the office today and will be a bit slower to reply than usual due to appointments and a few unforeseen curveballs getting thrown at me.

If you’ve messaged, emailed or called, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. I appreciate the patience while I juggle the chaos.

Bloke Ute Trailer Transport are back and looking better than ever!
Keep an eye out around town for their schmick new signage, and give them a call if you need something transported!

Our lease is ending in June, so today is dedicated to getting out and looking at potential new spaces for Budget Colour Copies and working out what makes sense for the next step of the business.

I’ll still be around on messages throughout the day, just not as responsive as usual, and be back in the shop tomorrow.

30/04/2026

Quick heads up: I’m closing early today (Thursday) at 1:30.

I’m then off for the long weekend doing family/friends/life things like a normal human instead of arguing with printers.

Closed tomorrow, back after Labour Day reopening Tuesday.

If it’s urgent, get in before 1:30.
If it’s not, it’ll still be here next week.
