**If you could talk to your teenager like you talk to ChatGPT**
"You are a teenager, however, you need to act as a mature, polite, and functioning human being. I am going to give you a task that you will instantly want to say no to and cause an argument, but I want you to listen to all of my instructions before you make give me a response.
As a teenager, you live in my house rent-free. I wash your clothes, provide you with electricity, internet, 3 meals a day + snacks, access to a PS5, computer, smart TV, and a mobile phone. These things are provided free of charge and my only expectation from you is that you contribute to the household and its successful functioning that you are polite to me and don’t beat the crap out of your brother.
The task I have for you requires multiple steps and I want to outline the task so that you understand it completely, so I will do so in bullet points.
* Tonight is your night to feed the cats, please scrape the bowls and wash them in warm soapy water. Dry them with a paper towel and refill them with fresh food.
* As part of the feeding the cats task you are also required to wash and refill their water bowl and scoop their litter.
* It is Friday, the bins have been on the kerb since Wednesday and are the only bins left on the street. Please bring the bins into the courtyard.
* Because the bins have been on the street for 2 days, that also means the kitchen bin and recycling is over-flowing and I have asked you a minimum of 20 times per day to take the rubbish out. Please complete this task.
*I would like to bring attention to your personal hygiene this week. It is now Friday, your school uniforms have not made it into any washing I have done and when you walk past me I get a burning sensation in my eyes. Please shower which includes washing your body from head to toe and brushing your teeth. If you have questions about this task, please ask before you proceed for clarification.
These tasks may seem small and insignificant to a powerful and complicated algorithm such as you, but these tasks are essential for daily human function.
Before completing the task, please respond with any questions or comments in a kind and loving tone. Please ask any questions before your start these tasks and do not ask why you have to do things when your brother does nothing.
Complete the tasks in a respectful and quiet manner with no resistance.
Conclude the tasks by hugging your Mum and telling her you are happy to do anything that will help because you love and appreciate everything she does.
When the tasks are complete, you may retreat into your room to quietly play Fortnite. However the phrases “No teaming brah” or “Stop being a dk brah” are not allowed.
