Cover reveal for Even If It Hurts by A.L. Russell ๐Ÿ’œ

The key points to hit in this morally grey contemporary romanceโ€™s brief were a southern gothic aesthetic with stalker/suspense vibes (yum!). You can find that vision reflected in the large skull thatโ€™s been double exposed over the classic Southern-style funeral manor home, as well as the romantic monochromatic colour palette and lush blacklettering.

Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!

With a new era of QC currently loading, I thought Iโ€™d better go ahead and reintroduce myself!

Hi, Iโ€™m Emily (or as some of you may better know me, EJ) aka Quirky Circe, your friendly neighbourhood book witch โœจ

Iโ€™ve been a graphic and front end UX designer for over 20 years, a career which pivoted sharply (and solely) toward book design back in late 2021. Since then Iโ€™ve had the privilege of designing for hundreds of books, and for a broad range of indie and hybrid authors, publishing houses, book boxes, and book events from all over the world. I consider myself extremely blessed to be working so closely with such a wide variety of talent, and in an industry I am deeply passionate about.

My presence on social media before now has largely been to use my page(s) as a portfolio. Going forward I plan to share more of my work as well as knowledge in the hopes of helping my fellow indie authors get the most out of their book design journey.

What you can expect:
โœจ custom cover & interior designs
โœจ pre-made designs
โœจ behind the cover reels
โœจ graphic design 101
โœจ how to talk your designerโ€™s language
โœจ industry tips & tricks
โœจ software/tool recommendations

I do hope youโ€™ll join me!
