🚧 ADELAIDE ROAD ROUNDABOUT UPDATE 🚧

Over the coming months, Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) crews will continue working along Flaxley Road and Wellington Road, undertaking earthworks, installing services and constructing new road and footpath infrastructure. Some night works will be required to reduce impacts on motorists during the day.

As part of the project, a new footpath will be constructed between Alexandrina Road and Wellington Road. This means the eastern entrance to the Rage Cage will be temporarily closed for about a week from mid-June, weather permitting. Access will remain available via the southern entrance, with pedestrian access maintained at all times.

DIT is also taking steps to protect the environment throughout construction, working with local specialists to relocate wildlife, assess vegetation, reuse materials where possible and even safely relocate a beehive discovered within the project area.

From mid-June, the existing pedestrian crossing on Wellington Road will be removed to make way for a new permanent crossing east of Mount Barker High School. Temporary signals and traffic controllers will be in place to help everyone move through the area safely.

While roadworks can be inconvenient, these investments are helping to connect the pieces of Mount Barker's future transport network and will deliver safer, smoother journeys for years to come.
