LinkedIn storytelling beats data dumps. Stories sell, facts tell. You've probably noticed that your posts with tips and lists get ignored while your personal experiences get dozens of comments. That's not an accident.

In this video, we explain the difference between information dumping and storytelling on LinkedIn and why one consistently outperforms the other.

What's the best story you've shared on LinkedIn recently?

Profile psychology drives conversions. Two LinkedIn profiles can look remarkably similar, but one generates multiple enquiries every week while the other gets nothing.

In this video, we will unpack the subtle triggers that separate profiles that convert from the ones that don't. These are the details most people completely miss.

What feeling does your profile create for someone who's never met you? Take an honest look and let us know.

Are you still operating during “office hours” only? That’s holding your business back, in more ways than you know.

If your business isn’t available to your customers 24/7, then it’s probably losing customers by now. Consumer expectations have changed, and an “office hours” only approach simply doesn’t fit for what people are looking for nowadays.

It may be a holiday in your country, but your customer is located in another country entirely. How would you answer their queries then?

That’s why you need a distributed team. Break out of the “office hours” thinking, and you can build a business that serves customers across the globe, at any time of the day or night.

If you’re worried about time zone differences or holiday clashes, remember that a distributed team gives you the ability to serve your customers no matter where they are.

Don’t let old assumptions about “office hours” limit what your team can achieve.

How would 24/7 customer service help you build a better business?

Stop collecting LinkedIn connections. Everyone focuses on growing their LinkedIn network, but what about the power of strategically removing connections? Most people don't realise that an overstuffed network with inactive or irrelevant connections is actively hurting their performance.

In this video, we will explain why pruning your network isn't about being exclusive; it's about being intentional with who sees your content and how the algorithm evaluates your engagement.

When did you last audit your connections? Let us know in the comments.

Do you include a video recording as part of your remote team interview process?

It’s an easy addition to your interviewing process, and it’s an excellent way for potential candidates to outline who they are, and what they can bring to your business.

At Prominence Talent, we’re big believers in the power of recorded video interviews for remote hiring.
They are more than a convenience. They’re a tool for fairness, flexibility, and reducing unconscious bias.
Here’s how it works: every candidate receives the same set of questions and is asked to record their responses on their own schedule.

This levels the playing field, enabling your candidates to present themselves without the pressure of a live call or the risk of being judged on superficial factors like accent or camera quality.

For hiring managers, it means you can review responses at a time that suits you, and you can easily share the recordings with other decision-makers across time zones.

We’ve found that this approach leads to more thoughtful answers and a better sense of a candidate’s true fit for the role.

It’s especially valuable when you’re hiring for distributed teams, where asynchronous communication is the norm. If you want a hiring process that’s efficient and inclusive, consider making recorded interviews a standard part of your toolkit.

What’s one thing you think that highlights the value of using recorded video interviews in your hiring process?

At Prominence Talent, we’ve heard it, time and time again: business owners who think nobody would ever be interested in hacking their systems.
They’re wrong. This becomes even more important as you build your distributed team.
One of the first things you need to lock down is your cybersecurity.

We can’t stress enough how critical it is to protect your business and your clients’ information when your team is working from multiple locations.

Your distributed team means your data could be accessed from a home office in Brisbane, a café in Cape Town, or a co-working space in Manila.

That’s why we insist on a baseline of security practices for all remote workers.

VPNs are non-negotiable.
Multi-factor authentication must be standard.
All sensitive communications should be encrypted.
Your onboarding process must have a cybersecurity module.
You must audit your systems on a regular basis.

We’ve seen too many businesses think they’re too small to be a target, only to find out the hard way that cybercriminals don’t discriminate. Don’t make the mistake of thinking your business is immune. Stay on guard, from day one.

Have you experienced any cyber issues recently?

If you are competing on price, and price, only, welcome to the race! The race to the bottom.

Here are 5 strategies that actually work on LinkedIn.

- Get specific. Broad claims don’t sell. Specific results for a specific audience do. Don’t tell people you help businesses grow. Tell them you help your ideal client achieve a specific goal, in a consistent way.

- Lead with value. You don’t need to be posting more to get more attention. Three posts a week is enough. What your audience needs is evidence that they can trust you to help them. Give them a reason to trust you before they buy.

- Sell the results. Stop trying to sell your product. Start telling people how they will benefit by buying from you. Speak directly to their challenges, show them that you can get them the results they want. It becomes easy to see how your solution is the bridge between the two.

- Keep it simple. Complexity kills conversions. Show people a clear path towards buying from you. Highlight how they can believe in it, and see themselves getting the results they want. Aim for simple wins every time.

- Proof over promises. Anyone can tell everyone about how great they claim to be. Instead, prove it. Show people how great you are and what results you get for your clients. Yes, that means sharing that screenshot, testimonial, and feedback from your clients. Show people real results. When they see success, they'll want it for themselves.

It’s not about lowering your price. It’s about raising your perceived value. Dial that in, and the right clients will thank you for charging you what you’re worth. How will you integrate these tips into your LinkedIn activity this week?

If you think that spending time here is wasting your time, it’s not the platform that’s the problem.
That may sting a little, but it’s the truth.

You don’t have a visibility problem. The algorithm is not working against you.
Your lead generation efforts on LinkedIn are not working because you have not established your authority.
Without authority, no amount of posting, advertising, or engagement tricks will generate consistent leads. You cannot "hack" your way to trust.

Trust is the currency of lead generation.
You can’t expect to generate leads without building trust.
The solution is simple: Authority first. Leads second.

For more than ten years, we’ve been helping our clients build undeniable credibility, position themselves as the go-to leaders in their space, and then amplify that reputation through strategic visibility.
The result? Predictable, qualified leads that do not require a fight to convert.

If your leads are drying up, it’s not the platform’s fault. It’s time to look in the mirror.
Let’s hear from you: does authority need to come before scaling?

Productive LinkedIn use needs discipline.

It’s far too easy to convince yourself that time spent on LinkedIn is automatically productive. We have caught ourselves falling into the trap, jumping from notifications to another ‘important’ comment thread, only to realise an hour has slipped by with little to show for it. LinkedIn is great at blurring those lines. The algorithm’s cleverly tuned to reward us for scrolling and engaging, even when it doesn’t move the needle in real business terms.

We would love to hear how you distinguish productive LinkedIn use from busywork that feels like business development.

LinkedIn prospects are taking their time before making decisions. If you’re focused on serious lead generation, that’s not a bad thing. The key is nurturing relationships through regular touchpoints and helpful content. Keep future clients engaged until they’re ready.
