Even as a design and marketing agency we still struggle the most with thinking up content for ourselves. Because yes, marketing is hard!

Hot or not, the new iPhone Duo phone... it's a hot flop from us. But we LOVE the Samsung flip and fold 😉 Totally better, way more awesome mobile devices that you should definitely invest in if you want to be cool. Hear that? SAMSUNG FLIP...

As for theDuo? Not only does it go against all standards: pocket sizes, hand sizes, card holders and responsive design, it simply feels like Apple is trying too hard to be different, a little too late to the party.

What do you think? Would you pay 3.5k for a phone that isn't responsive for most app design?

Wednesday the 16th of September was the day a strange anomaly occurred at Simple Pixels. That anomaly was a complete halt to all work orders.

With Radiohead tickets on the line we couldn't take the chance on missing out. Fortunately the 'ol reliable fans got their tickets, but our year 10 work placement-designer, Zac, missed out. It's okay, he's probably a poser anyway.

We're happy to announce that work as usual is back on schedule.

Did you know we're closed on Fridays?!

If you missed our newsletter, Simple Pixels moved to a 4 day work week at the start of August! We're now 6 weeks in and absolutely loving it.

We're more focused, more energized, and genuinely getting more done in 4 days than we were in 5. Turns out a proper reset each week does wonders for creativity and problem-solving - something we're pretty reliant on in this industry.

On top of this all, with spring in the air and the weather warming up, it's been great to get out and spend more time doing the things we love with the people we love.

And if this is the first you're hearing of this - don't worry. Nothing changes on your end. Your websites and apps are still looked after, inboxes are still monitored, and if there's ever a Friday emergency, there's always someone on call. Nothing about the service you get from us has changed.

Here's to more balance, better work, and a well-earned long weekend every week. 🙌

One of the hardest things to balance in design work is a solution that fits both what the client wants, and what's really going to work.

In this logo design I knew three things: I was creating a symbolic artwork, it was inspired by stain glass, and there were several objects that the client wanted to be included. But because I was so stuck on trying to tick everything off in that list, I was losing sight of any design clarity itself. I had literally hit a wall with myself.

What I've found in situations like these is rather than mulling on it and wasting time on 'what ifs', the quickest way to resolve it all is to simply ask; what do you think?

That's why it is so important that brand design is a collaborative effort. It's not about slapping a mark on your business, it's about finding an emblem that truly represents everything unique about you, and your service.

Our reward this past Friday was getting to revisit our DnD game!

After traversing down into the Gnome caves we successfully solved the riddle of the curious shapeshifter, and made sure to keep the King feeling mad. Zac got eaten and spat out by a Mimic after drinking too much (again!), and we returned home with another gnome, a new quest as matchmaker, and a big handful of gold.

Now on a new supply delivery, here's hoping the logging town we're visiting are just as welcoming as the gnomes 🐃👀

Please DO NOT REPLY to these emails. Instead, report and block all accounts pretending to be any one of our team members with an .com domain.

Our team will only ever contact you from our official .com.au domain. That means any emails ending in .com are NOT us. Please keep a close eye on your correspondence, and trust your instincts.

We will never give you a website audit in the form of an email, unless specifically requested. Our process is much more formal and personable, and we'd much rather hear about your business problems first hand, than to give you a list of problems to fix.

Another easy way to spot an impersonator is our email signature style. Simple Pixels email signature includes our animated, red pentagon, NOT our headshots.

A tremendous congratulations to the Miss Wagga Wagga Quest for planning an amazing first event. Our simple, little team loved showing up to support Kayla at the Quest's Boots, Bling and Bingo night, and help raise money for Wagga's local charities.

Kayla and her fellow Entrants ran an incredible night and we can't wait for the next one. 🤠🐎✨️
