A glance into the brand of Kate Marshall Studio 🤎
I’ve been working with Kate for a couple of months now and the pieces are all starting to come into place.

It’s such a rewarding project on my end when a client trusts me with something as large of a scale as a full rename, rebrand and new website.

There is so many moving parts, launch timelines and plans to execute at different times whilst also maintaining the momentum and storytelling on the front end.

This is just a teeny glimpse into the brand that was created which Kate has done such a wonderful job rolling it out onto her social pages. I have seen her blossom into this new chapter and I cannot wait to share the website when it’s completed (which should be so so soon)

Well if you’ve ever scrolled my page and wondered whether i work with businesses like yours… scroll this 👀 the answer is probably yes.

100+ clients in, and the industries just keep surprising me, but I what doesn’t surprise me is that the Storytold framework works because good branding isn’t industry-specific. it’s story-specific. and every single business has one worth telling 👏🏼

But swipe through so I can explain how they are super alike 👉🏼

You don’t just walk in off the street and expect your artist to freestyle something meaningful on your body in the next ten minutes (unless you’re picking out of their flash books of course) . you book in advance, you send through your inspo, you have a chat about placement and size and what it needs to mean to you.

And on their end, your artist has already been thinking about you. sketching concepts, working out how to bring your idea to life in a way that’s going to look incredible and actually last.

So yep, it’s basically the same process when you work with a designer.

When you book a spot with me, I’m blocking out real time on my calendar, thinking about your business, and preparing before we even begin. so that when we do start, we can hit the ground running and make something you’re bloody proud of, the thing that makes the biggest difference though? The ‘homework’ 😅

The intake form I send, the inspo images or Pinterest board i ask for, the little bits and pieces i get you to pull together before we kick off, that’s where it all starts from, and it’s how i get inside your head and make sure what i create actually works for your brand, cos you know your business better than anyone.

The clients who come prepared always walk away with something that blows them away and it’s cos they were prepped and ready for it to be a collaborative process.

So if you’re thinking about booking in, start thinking, collecting, screenshot things that catch your eye, notice what you’re drawn to and why. by the time we start, you’ll already be halfway there. 💌

if Ashton’s story sounds familiar, the website that hadn’t been touched in years, the DIY spiral, the ‘ i’ll sort it eventually’ energy sitting on the bottom of the to-do list, this one’s for you 🩵

most people don’t put it off because they don’t want a website, they know they need one, they just put it off because they’re not sure it’s worth it, or they’ve been burnt before, or they don’t know what the process involves, or they aren’t very ‘techy’ and think they won’t know how to use it once we’re done (spoiler, I’ll never let that happen!)

Ashton had some of the same doubts and now she’s got a website she’s actually proud to share, a clearer web strategy, and more enquiries coming in from people who’ve never heard of her before

I have been overthinking this post for way too long 😂😵‍💫 I talk about this stuff with clients, with friends over coffee, in DMs all the time but there’s something about putting your actual opinions on the internet that feels scary. today I attended a workshop about owning your process and being vulnerable about your craft and it gave me the nudge I needed.

so here we are.

I’m not here to be controversial I’m just genuinely here for the small businesses, the ones navigating all the tech gremlins, trying to show up online authentically, and wondering if the fastest cheapest option is the right one.

and I get it it’s easy to pick up your phone and ask a bot to write your next caption, design your next poster, or build your website. I’m not judging that.

but we’re losing the human connection in it and that’s the part that actually makes people stop scrolling, feel something, and want to work with you.

So here I am, and the slides say the rest. 🤎

I am so excited to share this one. 🤍
If you haven’t heard of - firstly, where have you been and secondly, go follow them right now because their taste is absolutely unmatched.

We’ve been working together over the last little bit to get her beautiful little boutique online and I am so proud of how it’s come together. Like, every time I open the site I just think yes, that’s exactly right (and I’m quietly adding up my wishlist hehe) 🤭

The mega menu, Sarah’s very own brand photography (Shot by fellow Riverina Local, ) just sitting there looking stunning, making you want to click on absolutely everything 😍

We made sure everything was easy to find, easy to understand, and easy to buy, all the info you need is right there on the product page, no digging around, no “wait how much is shipping”, it’s just handled.

And for the Hay locals, local pickup is sorted too, obviously.

Sarah now has emails running in the background doing all the heavy lifting, following up, saying thank you, asking for reviews, so she can focus on doing what she does best, which is finding the most beautiful things and putting them in one place for us to buy.

had a rest day yesterday cos my body was telling me to stop. I surrendered to it, even took a big fat nap which i never do and my business didn’t burn down , metaphorically speaking.

you know what happened? nothing. but in the best way.
my website was doing the selling, posts from the last couple of weeks were still getting engagement, and I had an enquiry sitting in my inbox waiting for me when I jumped back online this morning.

that’s cos I spent the time getting my ducks in a row with a brand and website that actually works for me. so I can do things like listen to my body screaming at me to take a break. and in being able to do that - I was able to get back to business today serving my clients at 100%.

Your brand and website is not just there to look good - although that a bonus. it’s the thing that shows up for you at 2pm on a Monday when you’re horizontal on the couch with your cat (or looking after your sick baby, or running off to that emergency family thing) , completely unavailable completely out of office when you need to me, and still in business. 🤎
