When was the last time created some new set of hashtags?

Tbh most business owners with h up their hashtags too much, which I speak about in my hashtag package.

I suggest changing your hashtags up every six months.

What I don't recommend is changing your hashtags on every single post, which is valid to a certain extent. However, you want to create sets based on regular subjects you speak about, so you’re getting specific.

1️⃣ You’ll have hashtags that are related to you and your industry.

2️⃣ You’ll have hashtags that a very specific to what you're speaking about.

3️⃣ Then, you’ll have hashtags that might include locations you are targeting and where your target audience might be hanging out.

If you change your hashtags up too much, it's difficult to see if they’re delivering results.

Create sets, test sets, tweak sets, refresh them every six months, not on every single post.

Stop cringing at the thought of showing your face on here because of your family and friends.

Think of it like this.... At least you had the guts to do what they couldn't do.

If we all went through life not doing something because we’re scared of what others would think of us, we wouldn't do anything.

Show up or block them... Just ask my hubby what it’s like to be blocked 😜

Do you want to explode your engagement after taking time off over Christmas?

It’s no surprise your absence on your socials during the holidays will have caused our engagement levels to plummet.

But, this is totally normal!

And, I will say your engagement levels help boost your content, and high performing content signals the algorithm to push the content out to more people.

So, in other words, your engagement rate determines where your content sits on the platform: low engagement = fewer 👀

To drive your engagement level back up, so you have more eyes, you’ll need to do some socialising. Here are 5 easy ways to start exploding your engagement levels

Implementing these small steps (which are my favourite, by the way) will drive your engagement levels back up, so you start seeing your content performing better; you can keep an eye on your progress with sites like (one of my favourite sites for tracking engagement)

Have you noticed your engagement levels decrease after taking time off from your socials?

Are you dreading creating content for your socials?

I have to admit, even after having time off, I’m slothing my way back. 🦥

So, if you’re still in sloth mode like me and your stuck for ideas on what to post, try not to overthink it.

✨Create a realistic posting schedule that suits you. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing.

✨Write down your ideas when those creative juices are flowing.

✨ Ditch any self-conscious vibes that are stopping you from showing up.

And most importantly, don't put any pressure on yourself, just have fun!

Last week Instagram shared a common misconception about the algorithm and how it works.

This will give you a little more insight into how it works. Would you like to see part 2?

If you're aiming to achieve a specific goal in the same way that everyone else is doing it and it's not getting you the results you want, then it might be time to approach it from another direction

This was the case when I first began using hashtags. I researched and absorbed all the information I could when it came to hashtags, and a common strategy I came across was to create three hashtag buckets and split them into groups.

And this never worked for me, and in the end, I would overanalyse my groups and get disappointed when I didn't see the results I wanted. Now, I could have kept pursuing that because that's what everyone else was doing, but at the end of the day, the strategy wasn't working for me or the accounts I managed, so it was time to create a new approach.

And finally, I started seeing results. Being a social media manager for multiple accounts meant I could test the strategy across accounts, so I knew it worked.

So if you’re in a similar position and trying to achieve a specific, let this be a reminder to you. If you're not getting the results you want with your social media, break away from what everyone else is doing and experiment. What works for someone else might not work for you.

Don’t forget to keep track of your results to compare them to previous months so you know what's working and what's not!

Has this happened to you before?

Well worth the read if you want to understand the platform 🙌🏻

Today, we’re sharing the first in a series of posts that will shed more light on how Instagram’s technology works and how it impacts the experiences that people have across the app.

Instagram is a crowded platform, and when it comes to getting results for my clients, I like to ensure I'm optimising the visibility of their profile simply. This way,

1 - Optimise your bio; it's your digital business card.
2 - Create content that focuses on solving a pain point your customer is having.
3 - Use a location tag on EVERY SINGLE POST. If you're targeting a specific area and use a location tag, this will increase your chances of a potential customer finding your business under that location tag.
4 - Use hashtags to attract traffic to your page. Without them, how will a potential customer find your account?
5 - Stay on top of industry trends like reels that increase your reach.
6 - Create a consistent posting schedule. Instagram loves consistency and so do the users of the platform.
7 - Interact with your followers and other accounts within your industry.
8 - Use CALL TO ACTIONS at the end of your captions. You don't have to do it all the time, but it is a great way to help your followers decide what to do next.
9 - When you're tagged in a story, re-share it to your stories and tag the account. Don't miss the opportunity for your business to be shared with a whole new audience that isn't yours.
10 - Now, take these tips a put them into action. Keep track of your results for the next month and see if you notice a difference.

Let me know how you go!

The kindest words from an incredible cake maker in Warrnambool. I found through Instagram when I was looking for someone to make my daughters a cake for her 7th birthday. I'm fussy with cakes because I have a bestie in Melbourne who is a cake maker, but Em lived up to all my expectations.

Em later purchased my bio refresh, and we made some changes to optimise her bio, and it looks so good! I will never get sick of the saying that I heard from , "Your bio is your billboard, and your feed is your storefront", so make sure you optimise it to the fullest.

I am so grateful Em took the time to leave these kind words for me, but can we also appreciate the cactus cake?!

If your hashtag goal was to attract traffic then you would measure this goal by looking at how many profile visits you are getting.

I had beautiful small business owner purchase my hashtag package less than a month ago and she slid into my dms the other night to share these results from her account.

Can we just take a moment to look at these profile visits 🤩 These results are awesome considering her account is just starting out.

You can't tell me hashtags don’t work.

I don't know about you, but I'm hopeless with Grammer. When I would write captions, I would read over them 100 times and then pass them onto my husband to look over. I felt like I was handing in my homework to him. 🤣

Then I stumbled on an app called Grammarly. A grammar and writing assistant app that's linked to your keyboard on your phone. For me, this app was a game-changer, and not only did it save me so much time when it came to writing captions, but it gave gives me feedback on my tone of voice, plus my writing statistics, and now I don't need to get my hubby to look over my work anymore.

Don't get me wrong; there are times when I need to correct Grammarly [cos nothing is perfect], but it gives me so much confidence and reassurance when writing.

If you're someone who sucks with grammar or spelling, I highly recommend downloading Grammarly. It's one of the best apps in my "toolbox".

What's in your toolbox that you can't live without?
