Though we hoped supply chain issues would ease in 2022, factors outside our control continue to wreak havoc, resulting in a perfect storm. Though we hoped supply chain issues would ease in 2022, factors outside our control continue to wreak havoc, resulting in a perfect storm. The effects of COVID-19 are still lingering. With lockdowns in China putting the brakes on shipments from Europe and Russia’s war on Ukraine limiting gas and w...

According to the Roy Morgan Australian Readership report for the 12 months to March 2022, readership numbers have remained stable compared with the previous year, with 10.9 million Australians aged 14 and over reading print magazines (51.5 per cent). Eight magazine categories have even seen strong growth, including general interest, health and family, motoring, and sports.

Magazines offer a way to disconnect while allowing us to tune into the exact thing we’re looking for, no matter where we are. And in our hobby-fuelled 2022 world, it turns out that’s precisely what we need.

Despite the dawn of the TikTok age, food blogs aplenty, and online articles galore, print magazine readership remains steady in Australia. Given lockdowns have ended and people have returned to their regular frantic routines, this is a fantastic result.

Regardless of what’s happening in the world, books will continue to be a constant source of comfort and entertainment for all ages. Though our lives are shifting, moving increasingly online, the past two pandemic-fuelled years have proven that books still have a place. And in fact, the industry is benefitting from the digital shift, with TikTok and online bookstores improving sales of physical books.

The reality is that the industry may change, but books in all their forms are timeless — and they’re here to stay.

Australian book sales have been on the rise since the pandemic hit in 2020. Though consumers were locked down at home, online book sales flourished — people suddenly had more time to read and turned to books for comfort in a time of uncertainty.

Brand continuity is all about maintaining a consistent image, experience, engagement, and comms across all your brand’s marketing activities, whatever channel the activity is on. It’s vital to succeed with your marketing.

Without it, your biggest fans won’t know what you stand for, won’t hear what you’re saying, and ultimately will stop listening. Read why continuity is king below.

It’s hard to have a conversation with someone that’s stop-start. It could be because of outside interruptions; maybe the reception on your phone is no good, or your internet connection is struggling that day.
